Has anybody else seen any Honda’s punch through as a 34.835 or similar segment 6 KA signal? I was at a light behind a brand new Honda that was showing up as 24.211/24.167 back and forth but then I got a full tilt KA alert that lasted for a few seconds and went away. No LEOs visible in the intersection and no further KA alerts after I turned away from the Honda. I’m on fw 1.50 on my R3 but I had a similar experience a few months ago on 1.48. Could the BSM signal overdrive the detector to the point that it falses a KA alert?

Edit: I had TSF off K filter on in all cases and K Block on after I upgraded in July.

Was there a Mazda nearby? Do Mazda's broadcast 34.7+/- at all? I think they can.
This is a good case for arrows to help you locate where the signals are all coming from.

I’ll see if the video is still on my dash cam.

No Mazda around.
On reviewing the footage the alert wasn’t full tilt, it was probably 2-3 out of 6.

I've had Honda false at 24.160, 24.167 on R7, but never a Ka false. It could have been legit signal, reflected. I have seen 34.816 from LEO running dual antenna simultaneously (the other was 34.668)...
Plus, I think if it was a BSM, it would be longer and stronger, especially that you are not moving and very close to the source...

I’ve seen 34.7 from some newer Jeep Cherokee’s Overlanders front collision avoidance system with the Pro-M.

That’s the only thing I’ve seen false 34.7. It’s pretty strong and can bounce off vehicles in front of it back at you.

It is possible but I haven’t seen any LEOs running 34.7 on surface streets in Charlotte before. Also, I’ve heard NC keeps their stalkers pretty tight to 34.7 without drifting.

Then I would guess it is possible to be a Ka false, but still don't think it was from the vehicles right around you. The signal was just not strong enough and persistent. The source was elsewhere...

I’ll look for Jeeps if it happens again. It has only happened three times in about five months so it’s not a big deal and I’ve had great detections otherwise. I just wanted to see if others had seen it.

Defiantly the Jeep does it. I got caught between one and a Lexus NX300. It kept jumping between the Lexus MRCD false and the 34.7 of the Jeep for a couple of miles. It was madness.

My previous ones on fw 1.48 were 34.836, 34.837 and 34.856 which bogey toned into 34.830.
I'd call it confirmed then since the frequency I got was almost exactly the same. My false was out in the middle of nowhere too so it's definitely not another car.

Just have to figure out what's causing it. If it's overdriving the detector or it's something else on the car that does it. I wonder if it's a satellite radio antenna?

Two Chrysler Pacificas in convoy, spewing a bunch of BSM falses caused my R1 to false on 34.7.

i don't have the satellite radio option in my car but I do remember someone on the forum had to install some shielding in their BMW by the shark fin to keep their detector from falsing a while back.

Come to think of it; I had 12 minutes of something like this somwhere behind me a few days ago. Constant frequency changes and many in the 34.8xx range.
I've not changed my setup at all.

I suspect we are seeing a new collision avoidance or cruise control system as my signals were all from the rear and I was on a divided mountain highway and it plagued me for 12 minutes almost constantly.

I snoozed about 10 different signals. (Really nice feature to have at times like this!)

There were too many vehicles behind me to identify anything and the signal was low enough that I'd expect it to be out of visual range anyway. I'd guess it was roughly half a mile.

When are you planning on getting that dashcam? :p Or do you already have one but just don't post videos for privacy reasons?

Little bit of privacy concerns but mostly just too busy driving all over the place for many hours per day.

To do any videos justice that I'd share in the way I'd like, I need to inset JBV1's screen on the dash cam video. Maybe the top half out the front, bottom left would be rear cam, and bottom right would be JBV1.

Everyone running 1.5 that has seen this? I know 1.48 was mentioned also.

I hope this is a Uniden issue like what Whistler has. Why? Because if this growing set of reports are from vehicles using Ka for automation, or have sloppy transmitters that spew harmony or off freq crap, look out for the RD community. Could be some more hassled days with falsing detectors of any brand.

You'd be right about NC keeping their Stalkers spot on. I've seen tons of them and each and every one is damn near spot on. So far the farthest I've seen one off was a rear antenna at 34.748, he switched it from the front antenna which was 34.717 as I went by. They are doing this all the time now since they started running Stalkers. They also are running them on C/O more lately with both units running at the same time!
