Hi, all.
I had my first long-range detection (about 2.5 miles) yesterday. It was LEO's rear antenna, so I think this was pretty cool. LEO can be seen at 1:31, left lane on the other side...
As soon as he passed by, the arrow switched to REAR, and signal went full blast. Also, towards the end of video, it was that Honda that caused the K alert at 24.160 - 24.167.
K narrow
K filter & K block ON
TSF OFF
Ka 2/4/5/6/8
All bands 100% sensitivity

Yes, it's a really nice drive.
No, just a random vehicle.

If that was him in the White SUV, I'd say that was a much longer range than that. Closer to 4mi + I estimate.

You yourself rolled from Miler Marker 25.6 to the last Marker I saw was 28.4mi, - past the crest of that far hill into that long flat stretch near end of video. That LEO musta been at least a mile further back(from28.4mi) when you got that first alert. You traveled 2.8mi & he was likely rolling a little more than you over PSL.
My 4mi estimate was conservative.

That's pretty impressive, especially for a rear antenna encounter...

….only from a Uniden....
I think there was cop on the access road along the highway as aside from the redfish looking vehicle in the medium I couldn't see a cop in oncoming traffic.

There is allot of steel guard rails and stone walls to reflect the signal to give it strength.

Definitely a challenging one to figure out even with the video.

1:31 of video. Here is a screenshot. If you zoom in, event though it will be pixelated, you can see the round marking of the local HP on the driver door, and also see the 2 "sticks" in the middle of the roof (the bases for the antennas on top). I actually did see and identify him when passing by. I did not just guess that there was a LEO on the other side, only based on the alert...

Either way, it's a killer detection! You will get plenty more from even farther away than this. Those R7's are monsters!

That's the perfect picture of the LEO - tks.
In your video I could see the ant. on the roof & I did noticing Him passing the P/U w/ the 2 Jet Ski's on the trailer he was towing.
(really think it was a 5+ mi detection)

Thanks for the input, @RedRocket!
Indeed, it was a long distance detection. I am not really obsessed by the distance (especially with C/O), but rather with reliable alerting to I/O and off-axis. And the R7 sure delivers that.
