Just called and got the low down on a couple of new features... ;)

1) The new V1 will come with a dash mounted ticker tape print out for alert tracking and historical evidence.

2) There will be a new remote power supply option to make installation easier. No more mirror taps or cig cords. Will come with 6 month supply of dehydrated cheese.

3) Mike V has cracked the BSM filtering issue. The V1 will no longer detect K band. "I just don't believe in K band anymore. It's such an outdated frequency and a cluttered band. There are far better frequencies for police to use as well as laser. If you live somewhere where they still insist in using K band you should move. We are focusing on new technology that will detect when police are tracking the chips we will eventually have implanted in our heads. This is currently in beta testing with out staff."

No disrespect to others that called, but I believe when Vortex calls he gets the truth...
Not necessarily. I called in just to ask about the V1. I didn’t say I was Vortex in an effort to try and get more answers or anything. :p So I don’t m think what they told me is any more or less valid than what they told anyone else in this particular case. :)

You see, this is where they get you. The V1 will be cheap, but they'll gouge you on the dehydrated cheese.

I hear it will work great with open-source cheese...

I'm looking forward to seeing a 3rd-party solution, like JBC1.

I just called to preorder. They said it's basically the same unit. No changes to performance or features. They didn't know the details though unfortunately. They said they expect to get the parts in in 2-3 weeks and start shipping sometime in September.

Price-wise it'll be $400-something, but they're not sure what the exact price will be. They're going to get back in touch with me when they're ready to ship. I said that if I have a 3.8945 already and if there's some changes and improvements, we can order then. If it's the same thing, I'll just cancel my order. They were cool with that. Hopefully it's something new... finally. :)
Seems like every call is a different answer still. From having parts now with changes to still not having parts and no changes..

Sheesh... this is just as bad as trying to figure out how many licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

I called this morning and they said it would have better filtering . I asked about TMF3 and they said no comment
If that is true, that's good news indeed. Being able to detect low powered radar (Gatso/MRCD/MRCT) without having to run TMF2 off would be of benefit to many V1 users.

At this point, I think they're just using a Magic 8-Ball to answer caller's questions.

To be fair to all the detractors of the past, It's been since the beginning of April. I count nearly 5 complete months. :)
