These threads are why V1 has nothing to worry about. IF RDF went silent on the V1 and speculating on its future, MV would have to start worrying!

I dont follow this thread, but I do check the last page once a week or two, and that is too much !

Here we go.... Today's story from VR is multiple parts shipped from China have not arrived... She then informed it will be over 2 weeks for the detector to be available. My next question asked is why no price on the V1 and her reply was the labor to put the units together is not established yet as the parts are still on a sail boat from the far East. VR had better have an ace up their sleeve or it will be craps you lose....

It would be interesting to know the entire chain of events experienced by VR that led up to what you were told today @nycarpenter. It would be interesting to find out where VR potentially messed up, who else messed up, why things have been further delayed, etc.

We can all speculate and some (that think they have the entire world figured out) might even decide that they know the answer from their point of view, but without being in VR's shoes, none of us actually know what has led to what.

If they raise the price to $449 or something like that and don’t at least do any sort of display upgrade or anything after this long of a wait I’m not going to upgrade or purchase one and likely sell my outdated one. That’s just how I feel about it at this point in time.

Wow. This does not look good for any company. I am starting to think this '2 week' notice is just a big joke to them. They have to know members are calling in and just feeding the same line over and over just for S & G's. At this rate it could go on months longer. I feel bad for anyone holding their breath trying to purchase a new V1 (whether it is improved or not).

That’s this guy right here, I picked one up for the nostalgia factor and the fact they are reliable tanks.

When this thread got rolling I was so optimistic about having a improved V1. RDs have came so far yet there is a charm about the same old fashion V1 running an app.

Hard decision to say the least but I really don’t know at that price point for the same detector essentially as last year selling for $399. Would be worth buying in today’s market.

Your evidence?
Pretty sure the V1 ranks have lost members on this very forum to other detector vendors. With no product to sell, you aren't going to make it on accessories alone. Get too close to the release of another product and folks are likely to sit on their money and let them duke it out to see what's best.

I agree! This is more a who done it then a what's been done....

Based on his Twitter feed he mind certainly doesn't seem to be on RD’s...

The staff there must be enjoying this, just saying whatever they want...

This doesn’t bode well for any new V1 coming out.

there is nothing new under the sun.
