I'm trying to troubleshoot a BT module that I no longer can see from my phone. It disappeared.

Here's what I've tried:
(1) Power cycle
(2) Reload fresh config file from USB
(3) manually check all power connections
(4) test out multiple phones (resetting BT settings one of them)

There is no light on the BT module and no phone can see it any longer. However, the ALP CPU and remote pad show armed (blue - this has 3 RX heads and no GPS) and alert to parking obstructions and laser reception.

Any other suggestions?

BT is listed as FW 1.4, SN 6195XX. I think it is from about 2 years ago.

I’m sure you already tried this, but restarting the phone?

Thanks. I did restart several phones as I was troubleshooting.

Adding hardware. Did you attempt a factory reset of the system?

I did not do that yet.

Will try that now...

Long press MENU to enter Yellow menu (LED will change yellow)
Press NEXT (Menu Button) five times (5)
Press ENTER (Power Button)
-- Double Post Merged: --
Factory reset complete. Neither phone will find the BT module after reset and reloading config.

Dang that was all I had to do in order to set mine up.

How are you searching for the bluetooth device on your phone? Using the app exclusively or from the Bluetooth menu?

Make sure your app is current. If you have never firmware on the CPU and your app does not match it the paring might not work. Firmware has to be maintained on both the CPU and the apps themselves.

I have seen when my android phone auto connect to the BT that when I tried to start the app on my iPhone, the iPhone did not see the BT. Make sure you do not have a difference phone connected.

My apps auto update through the app store and I just checked and no updates available. I have two ALP systems - one in each car. In my car, all phones connect to it fine. In my wife's car, no phones connect to it even after factory reset, reloading config, confirming latest app.

Has it always been that way? Or with no changes has it started to not communicate. Reason I ask is because if the 2 wires on the BT Module are connected opposite it would give a similar issue where you would connect and immediately disconnect. If it was working normally at one time with no changes you will have to send it in to get checked.

It's worked reliably for two years with any of my phones. All of the sudden, I can't connect to it. I pulled out the CPU and the bt module and there is no green light on the BT module. Might it be dead?

Possible.. Send it in and we will check it. If out of warranty we will work a deal on a replacement at discount.
