Amen! You've been really consistent about this. Are you playing devil's advocate or do you actually have credible evidence? I kinda remember some cryptic posts which essentially amounted to hearsay or knowledge acquired from being in a somewhat related field. Might not have been you but either way I don't remember actually learning anything concrete.
I've taken more of an agnostic approach with a sense of optimism. To be honest, and I'm not really following this VR nonsense since I can just ask them like anyone else, I've seen more from the other side of the argument that at least makes me wonder.
It would be cool, and I apologize if you've already done this, if you would share why you're confident there isn't going to be a major update when the V1 goes back in stock.
With all the craziness going on with the forum I would like to think this consistent stance is based on something meaningful. I won't go as far to say you're being a bit of a troll, but if you're wrong.. well it won't matter because I'll be enjoying a newly updated V1 then.
Idk, I've just seen your name come up enough whenever I'm in this section to finally wonder what the hell I'm missing. I'm hopeful you can provide good insight to all of us rather than continuing to make claims which might confuse less familiar users. It's one thing to speculate and put your hypothesis out there. It's a little much in my book though, when you're commenting to users as if you're an employee of VR. Either you have actual information or you don't. If you don't, I'm gonna guess youre riding this train out, right or wrong. Wrong in my book, as in maybe you should refrain, if you're directly responding to users without any meaningful information to support your claims. Again, trollish is harsh but at what point are you adding to the confusion?
We're all speculating here which is fine...….it's a good workout for the gray matter and helps pass the time (four months and counting). Hell, it's a fundamental characteristic that separates us from the apes.......we like to sit around and reason things out.
It only becomes a problem when we start confusing strong opinions with facts.
Now I have a very strong opinion that NOBODY has a bonifide fact outside the walls of Valentine Research........if they did, then they are most likely an x-employee fired for leaking it (ha ha).
So here is a fact.......I'm speculating. And I'm speculating that a friggin LED or control knob did not shut down production for over four months and give Mike the preposterous idea of jacking up the price on a 13 year old hardware platform. Now some will argue that's not a fact but that is the last time Valentine had to certify any changes with the FCC.........and you monkey with the RF section of your detector you better do that.
That said, Transponder could be totally right. It would just shock the crap out of me. If they are crazy enough to make customer wait 4 months AND pay more for last years......last decades.....model, they will probably wait another 4 months just to sell one. On the other hand, being out of production for that long and a price hike on a NEW model would just keep them on back order until everyone on RDF has one. (Ha ha).
Hey, the V1 is still a tremendous detector and I would probably be daffy enough to buy another if they didn't change a thing, so don't take the above as a bash. I just can't believe the next major overhaul of the V1 will extend past this HUGE stoppage in production.
