Actual V1 users will decide matters like that.
Are you one?

Interesting. I'm not doubting you but that must be one hell of a box of tissues. Did he have a detector hidden in it?
Still I'm safe, my car has headrests.

The force of an object in motion from rapid deceleration is much greater than most people think. People have been killed by tennis balls and even stuffed animal beany babys coming off the rear deck lid (though umbrellas are the number one rear deck lid killer). The stuffed animal had enough force and momentum while hitting the victim in the neck just as snap back started and those to forces together in opposite directions of each other cased the neck to damage the spinal cord killing the victim. The ME said the victim would have survived a normal snap back but the opposing force of the stuffed animal caused the fatal injury.

The safe thing, don't use ones read deck lid for storage of anything.

You are right, I've attended enough car crashes to know the freakish things that happen. I was being a bit facetious. I was also pointing out the side benefit of headrests, they've saved a lot of lives.

Thank the Lord for this thread.. because without it.. I don't think there would be anything going on in this sub-forum..

Can we get back to speculations and guesses as to what's happening?

It's been 2 weeks since someone said they were told two weeks.. I think someone else said 2 weeks for the parts, then 2 weeks to produce (I'm guessing building up stock b4 shipping).

Has anyone heard anything lately? Did the "Parts" even make it to Valentine? Anyone got anything?

Not about range rather auto muting low level k alerts. My R7 is at 40% so I'd say k range is same as V1. But my V1 would mute all low level k alerts and mute rear k.. While r7 in traffic is a Xmas tree k here k there k everywhere 1to 2 and level ones which should just be muted like V1 did even with out jbv1

Not sure if you use it or not on your R7, but that's what quiet ride is for. It works wonders in traffic.....since you're not speeding in traffic.

You clearly don't ride a bike.

I do I have it set 35. But when I say traffic mean surround by cars on highway doing 70 still Hondas around

V1 muting logic was and is best way to handle mute k for X amount of sec or up to certain threshold. Id rather not see k alerts under level 3 for first 5sec. That would solve for having a honda pass by. Quiet ride works fine at red light but in moving traffic doesn't work as well k muting logic

I get what you're saying. It can be a pain to change, but I typically up the quiet ride to 75 when I'm on the highway, that has worked well for me, but I understand your point.

I spoke with VR today and was told more then happy to take a pre order but was still weeks away from shipping a product. I want to know what I just pre purchased I was told they would contact me prior to charging my card as they do not have the price set for whatever it is they are selling. Maybe I'm just an optimist but I can not see VR doing a face lift on a detector that is obviously dated and fallen behind the competition. I ordered 2 mystery units and now wait waving in the wind

Same thing they told me in July, pointing at August for a delivery window.

You are right about the facelift (there isn't one), you just ordered two "Current Model current firmware revision" V1s, same model and version that just sold out. If you get lucky, they had to change the display due to EOL of parts so that could be new. The price increase isn't because of new technology or performance improvements, it is because this production run costs more to make.

You've been really consistent about this. Are you playing devil's advocate or do you actually have credible evidence? I kinda remember some cryptic posts which essentially amounted to hearsay or knowledge acquired from being in a somewhat related field. Might not have been you but either way I don't remember actually learning anything concrete.

I've taken more of an agnostic approach with a sense of optimism. To be honest, and I'm not really following this VR nonsense since I can just ask them like anyone else, I've seen more from the other side of the argument that at least makes me wonder.

It would be cool, and I apologize if you've already done this, if you would share why you're confident there isn't going to be a major update when the V1 goes back in stock.

With all the craziness going on with the forum I would like to think this consistent stance is based on something meaningful. I won't go as far to say you're being a bit of a troll, but if you're wrong.. well it won't matter because I'll be enjoying a newly updated V1 then.

Idk, I've just seen your name come up enough whenever I'm in this section to finally wonder what the hell I'm missing. I'm hopeful you can provide good insight to all of us rather than continuing to make claims which might confuse less familiar users. It's one thing to speculate and put your hypothesis out there. It's a little much in my book though, when you're commenting to users as if you're an employee of VR. Either you have actual information or you don't. If you don't, I'm gonna guess youre riding this train out, right or wrong. Wrong in my book, as in maybe you should refrain, if you're directly responding to users without any meaningful information to support your claims. Again, trollish is harsh but at what point are you adding to the confusion?

Looking forward to hearing about the first shipment. I hope Mike brings a nice surprise.

Thanks to all in regards to the rear deck discussion. Though physics has always been my favorite science, I'd never pondered the energy of a two pound umbrella at 100MPH. And that's assuming I could slow down to 100 prior to impact! I rarely run over 125 these days. I feel a little less invincible each year. I'm going to make a strap for the umbrella.

Well if it's the same unit I will just cancel the transaction and stick with my Radenso M for now. If it's a complete overhaul then I have 2 coming my way.. Nothing ventured nothing lost why would MV be applying for new patients at his age?

Wow! A 2 lb. umbrella has almost 700 foot-pounds of energy at 100 mph.

My thinking is the same. I'll believe a new V1 when I see it. Even then, I'll need convincing that it's significantly better before I order one, or two.
But, this has been fun.
