I like how you have an MPH dash unit, an escort box and a HP computer.
It's my work car, I have to be able to print off logbook pages for Dot and delivery paperwork, bills of lading, etc. That's the redline ex box and it's going back tomorrow, I have an HP laptop and another Acer laptop and mobile hotspot on the phone.

I wouldve shot video but it seems like the kind of place to tell me to GTFO and not come back if I did.

she looked like she was 100 years old the lady did.
I heard that she was talking at the coffee machine about the handsome, polite young man who came in. Was that you?

I also heard she offered you a Sportsman's Double.
Or it could have just been a bad dream. LOL

Nay, that's part of the Gen 4 image processing out in the wild. Just temporarily slid it in there for testing. Good Catch!

I didn't see one, probably takes it inside. He preaches in the manual to take it down when not being used.

As much as you drive, you do know that over 500 people are killed a year in vehicle accidents due to objects they left on their rear deck lid?!!! Even an empty box becomes a killer when a vehicle stops instantaneously during an accident and flies off the rear deck hitting passengers in the neck or head. Of course umbrellas are some of the main killers.

A State Trooper up north was found dead in his car (POV) after blowing a tire after joining a high speed chase on his way home from his watch. He had his seat belt on but the blown tire went at the worst possible time and he hit an overpass bridge pillar stopping the speeding vehicle immediately. The ME figured it out a couple weeks later after looking at photos of the inside of his car. The ME noticed a travel size box of Kleenex on the floorboard of the passenger seat. It came off the rear deck lid and the corner of the box hit the Officer in the neck from behind killing him instantly. Imagine what a laptop or printer would do.

The lady that runs the front desk emphasized that they changed manufacturers for the needed parts that the old one wasn't made anymore. @Bossdad71 was on the phone with me while I walked in there and he was an audio witness .
Can we blame this on China perhaps? I know that he did source some parts from there. (and the US too).

In my gut I still think it is a part that was only manufactured in Costa Rico, the main On/Off Volume push to mute switch. But that is just a SWAG.

Probably time to close out this thread. It is like the prior dozen or so before it. "A couple weeks and waiting on parts". Near pushing half a year soon with this parts shortage stuff. Mike should be sending Johnboy royalties for the last several years as without him the V1 would be outdated with all the newer units out there. The filtering is so good on units like the R7 that without upgrades to range, more informative display and gps it's not a mainstream product. It's build quality is like a tank and there is some value in that but feature wise and range it's not close to what is out there these days. Add in no user firmware updates (doesn't need much since it's built in features are so few compared to newer units) and without bringing it up to par with other units out of the box functionality there is little compelling to spend $500 on a unit that needs an app which is supported by someone who at some point may lose interest.

I just don't see it happening. New V1 chatter has gone on for so long and still continues while nothing every materializes. I get Mike is revered to no end but maybe this is the end of the line.

Why bother closing out the thread? Why bother for three reasons 1) you are the one taking it further off topic with your V1 bashing 2) somebody will just open another one 3) we are not done discussing what might or might not be on Mike's Porsche!

Speaking of objects, is that a toll pass transponder or K40 laser module lower center? Or does that model Porsche have collision alert?

You could always ignore this thread instead of it closing... it’s not hurting anyone and no one is being attacked.

LMFAO - he most likely has a custom designed, remote mounted system.

He strikes me as an eccentric pioneer with his own private masterpiece.
