Updated! Thanks!

Went easy over my WiFi.

Now if someone would just shoot me...Did a lot of fast driving all last week through CT, RI, MA, and NNY to home in SNY. NOTHIN'! Not one hit. :(

Maybe I want an occasional false just to know it's working.

Phil

Tested mine against the hand held tester if that means anything (very little!).

Finally! I finally got hit...went back to get hit a second time. YES! And fairly close to home too. LTI True Cam. That som b!tch was monitoring from his black car, with white markings, off in the grass with his parking lights on (night time). Bastid didn't get me. :D

Going to do a full report in the proper section. ;)

I'm having a bit of an issue getting the 8.06 update via 4G. It's probably me or maybe it is updated, not sure. Picture is below. I try to update and it just sits there. Waited over 5 minutes. I have a BT connection and good 4G, so not sure what I'm doing wrong. May just need a WiFi signal. Any help appreciated.

Try to restart the app, or power down your phone. 9 times out of 10, it has to do with location of 4G. It requires full 100% 4G or Wifi. Keep me posted !

Did you push the "Update" button on the CPU?

It looks like it doesn't have a good read on CPU because it doesn't show current versions of algos. Maybe a BT connection issue, not sure.

I had to remove the JBV1 or whatever it's called in order to upgrade the software since JBV1 was interfering with my upgrade. I realized that I really don't need JBV1 so ADIOS. I mean I ran it for about 2 months and it brought nothing helpful beyond what waze brings so I said...neah...extra battery draining tool.

Prior to that I thought I would have loved it since all the V1 folks talk about it....I mean it's a great tool...I don't have a V1 and I will NEVER EVER GET ONE but since the excuse of getting V1 inadequacies was JBV1 than I should try it...and meh...no thank you...it doesn't add anything more to my information display that RSPE or R3 and Waze adds....it just drains my battery extra...so no thank you. Great job by the developer for those who use V1 but MEH for me who doesn't use it. I Have many other smart detectors to choose from without using an app to make my dumb V1 smart.

This algo update appears to have resolved the false positives I had been getting since the previous update, so thanks!

Wow Tempnexus... Use your (irrational) hate young jedi. :p

1) Whether you use JBV1 or Highway Radar, you will occasionally run across a situation where Waze does not show LEOs that are there. I've seen this happen for an entire weekend, and I've seen it happen for a few hours within the last week. For whatever reason Waze doesn't display data that exists in the data stream.

2) Waze doesn't alert you any farther than 0.5 miles of LEOs. Both JBV1 and Highway Radar can extend that distance substantially.

3) JBV1 or TMG Remote allow on screen alerts and interaction with TMG. Isn't that reason enough to consider using one of them? ALSO, with JBV1, you can have TMG switching into Receive Only Mode at a set MPH. Mine is set at 15 MPH so that I will never jam a gun while sitting at a stoplight, etc.

Nobody wants you to get a V1... Seriously. (You used to be just as irrationally angry with TMG before you owned it BTW.)

I've provided beneficial reasons above for either JBV1, TMG Remote, or Highway Radar. Only JBV1 covers all three benefits. But, as long as you are making one of your points... :holy:

Temp, from another non-V1 user, I think you are missing out.

I love using JBV1 in offline mode. It's so much better than Waze for the reasons @BlueV1 listed above. Particularly with alert distance. Not only that, but it warns for aircraft as well to pick up possible VASCAR threats. It gives you directional threat indicators and even tells you audibly how many 'thumbs up" a report has had.

It also integrates with TMG as mentioned. When it's hooked into TMG, not only does it work as a secondary way to control your TMG system, it also keeps an alert log, keeps track of where you had alerts previously and many other things. So when you JTK faster than the gun anouncment, you can go back to see what you were hit, see what your JTK was, etc.

I will reinstall it. Maybe it was something in my options. Who knows but it was interfering with the TMG update and I wanted to have TMG updated over JBV1 so I chose the prior.

FWIW, that will always be the case. The TMG update app and JBV1 or TMG Remote can't access the TMG at the same time. It's that way for everyone. :)

Ahh ok so the operating procedure is to uninstall it, TMG update it and reinstall it. Good to know. It's not like TMG updates monthly.

Huh? No need to uninstall anything. Just turn off the autoconnect on JBV1 and connect with the TMG app instead.

@tempnexus, there are a couple of ways to shut down a running app in cases like these.

Due to the variations in phones and Android versions, I'm not going to outline it here. :)
You can search for it like I just did though.
You can either access your recent apps and swipe away or close from there; or you can get to the app overview in settings and "Force Stop".

Out of curiosity, how did you have JBV1 triggered to start?

Careful what you wish for. I was wishing for the same thing and I got nailed but my TMG save my ass. I was doing 87 in a 71 when first hit by stalker RLR.... my 4-second Auto kill gave me enough time to slow down he never got a reading. But I was still nervous. Don't you have someone that can test you at least. I had my system tested a few weeks back against the same gun so I knew I probably was going to be okay I suggest you get it tested. At least look through your phone lens and make sure they're firing and get one of their laser testers to make sure heads are firing if you're that concerned. It's good to test every few months anyway just to make sure they're firing if you haven't been hit or tested lately
