usually, after class I like to go on this really nice backroad to blow off steam. Usually, I like to go fast on this road because it is fun and technical. In my time that I have lived here, I have noticed police units use KA band radar to catch speeders. the other day I saw a police car stationed next to a development going in. It must be the perfect target for unsuspecting speeders who come over the crest because BAM! Your toast. Fortunately, I have never had a problem going on this road even with a bright red ford fiesta st. The other day I was going on my usual route (stuck behind moving traffic) and I noticed the aforementioned police car waiting for people to come over the crest. My Uniden R3 didn't pick up a ka(k) band signature of the police car. I circled back around again and turns out he caught a corolla as his victim but with no signature as I drove past. Could this be that they are running instant-on vs constant on? Very unusual

I'm familiar with the area :)

Who typically patrols those spots? Clark County Sheriff or Camas PD? Seems a little far out for Camas PD. I know CCSO has PL3s. Could be I/O too. According to the RDFGS, Camas has PL3s too.

I have noticed that the gray Camas PD cars patrol and usually set up speed traps. The state patrol cars I have seen maybe 1 or 2 times. The Clark country sheriff cars usually just patrol around responding to calls, and other things police do

I’m in SW WA too! My guess would be they were using lidar and the R3 didn’t pick it up. I’ve been hit several times and my R7 was completely silent.

funny thing, I thought the exact same! However, When I passed by the officer I caught a quick glance of the detector on his windshield and It looked like a Kustom Raptor RP-1(black/ light gray square box). Also the other day I encountered a black (unmarked) ford escape patrolling the town with what looked like a bee 3 (black cylinder with dome).

That's an Explorer and a WSP rig, I used to see him by my work quite a bit running C/O, his antenna is almost dead nuts on 33.800.

the black ford escape is what I assume you are talking about. I always have my spider senses when on the highway . Although 9 out of 10 times its a soccer mom with tinted windows... DAMMIT
