I will do some basic tests of my own, but I am just curious if I can run with V1 connected ("normal") and then switch off the V1 and maintain other alert facilities, or will the app get confused?

Concrete example: I will be traveling through PA later this week, and down Rt 81 into VA, where LEOs love to listen for our banned detectors. So if I remove my V1 from my windshield as I enter VA, do I need to do anything special to keep my CSA's working non stop?

Thanks again!

The V1 is not a stealth detector. You need a detector for banned areas.

JBV1 will not provide radar alerts if the V1 is turned off. Moving the V1 off of the windshield will not significantly change how detectable it is.

JBV1 will exit sooner or later, depending on your data timeout settings. For now, you can restart in offline mode to keep everything else going. I plan to eventually allow switching between V1 and offline modes, either manually or automatically.

If you want to keep the APP going, and not be prey to RDDs, taking the Detector off the Windowshield still powered and keep the horns from seeing the road (place on center console). There might be other options, but not tested, but have the V1 search the sky without it transmission of pickup shooting straight down the road. This would reduce Radar pickup, but depending on the road pitching still could get ya.

OK, this is the info I was looking for (and "from the horse's mouth").

I am aware that the V1 is easily detectable by Spectre, which is why my intention is to shut it off when I enter VA. My question was whether the app can be configured to auto-switch to "Offline Mode" after a timeout and then I have less to do when I enter the state.

Thanks all for the replies.
