I'm about to pull the trigger on NetRadar.

From my reading I understand that NetRadar DSP is based on the Attowave DSP platform as is the Uniden R3.

Is there likely to be an update soon for a new NetRadar to be based on the R7 platform and therefore have increased range and lower K-band potential?

If that's the case I'll probably only buy a single DSP, use this up front and then when a new model comes out move this to the rear and put the new one up front.

Does anyone know if a new model is pending and if there is a timeframe for its release?

Thanks

The NetRadar DSP already has the same range as the R7, R3 and R1. I’m sure there will be firmware updates often but I haven’t heard of a new horn coming out anytime soon.

The newest H4 control box has increased memory to accommodate future updates such as improved BSM filtering and broadened K frequency below 24.000 according to some older posts from BRD. Haven't heard anything about new radar antenna hardware though. If you buy a new ALP system from an authorized dealer then you should get the current H4 control box as part of the package and be able to take advantage of future updates when they're released.

Thanks Guys. I ordered one yesterday - it has the H4 control box and the DSP radar head. Should see me right for a while. I think you are right - I suspect the H4 is going to allow for a couple of nice radar features in a few months.

What is this H4 control box!? Is this related to the ALP CPU or!? I only ask because I know the new CPUs were supposed to have more memory, etc. but then I saw this. Thanks and pardon my silly questions! :)

Yes, it’s an updated ALP cpu. I should have mine by the end of the week. GPS plugs in directly and potentially there may be further gps related features added later.
