All,

Curious about this camera reportedly in operation in VIC as a mobile enforcement tool

Model Number : Gatsometer Radar24-GS11

Has anyone got feedback from testing their RD against this camera?

Info I've found so far indicates the system runs a Vertical Beam slotted antenna at k24.150 fixed frequency. Could one expect similar detection performance with an R3 to the guys facing mobile Redflex with their R7, I wonder?

Some info from another thread found here: Mobile photo radar-Winnipeg

Technical data:
Antenna type: slotted wave guide
Frequency: 24,125 GHz +-25 MHz, no Frequency Modulation
Max. Power output: 47 mW or 15 mW? There are different Values in the two certifications.
Antenna Gain: 23,68 dBi
Polarisation: Vertical
Measuring angle: 20°
Beam: 5° horizontal, 20° vertical

This might be of use to view:

Gatso seems to be "easier" to detect then redflex, but that is just me guestimating from watching the videos. Redflex is just a nasty SOAB to detect!

I'm not sure if the GS11 is the same as the Gatsos discussed in that article. I'm trying to find one to do some testing of my own

1st Encounter today. R3 performed pretty well

Mobile unit mounted to small SUV
Straight and level road in rural Vic. Vehicle was facing towards me parked in the opposite shoulder
PSL - 100km/h

At approx 500m i got the first k alert and could tell be the ramp up that this was no BSM...
Quickly checked the frequency. Spot on 24.125
Ramp up reached full signal by approx. 50m from vehicle and lost signal <100m past rear of vehicle

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to check alert distance from the opposite direction, thanks honey :/

Need to invest in a dash cam!
