I was hoping to swap my black suction cups from my R3 and use with my V1 but they don't seem to fit right. Anyone know where I can get some that fit correctly?

V1? Actually, the stockers can be rejuvenated pretty easily by sticking them in a cup of boiling water for 15-20 seconds. Then let them cool, and LICK them before attaching to a clean window. Mine are well over 10 years old and work perfectly fine.

I put my V1 cups in a cup of boiling water and let them sit a few minutes and presto!, they're good as new till you take the mount down again. Just clean the windshield with alcohol.

Yes, I have plenty of brand new suction cups from V1 but I prefer the black ones on my R3 instead of clear ones. They are less visible on windshield. Was hoping I could just swap them but they don't seem to fit correctly. Does anyone know if maybe Whistler or another brand has black ones that fit the V1's mount?

Whistlers are much bigger in the center where they slide into the mount, and they are all clear I think. Cobras are black but I can't remember how big the center is.

I'm sure I can use an X-Acto and make the R3 cups fit but don't want to ruin them as I don't currently have spares. Maybe I'll just have to order a couple spares from Uniden and see what I can come up with. I've been using the visor mount for years (which is why I still have my original clear cups never used) but I want my visor back. Blendmount doesn't make mounts for my model and year Benz which is ridiculous.

How can black circles on a windscreen be less visible than clear ones?

His windshield is painted black. :p
Actually, I can see how black cups might match a black windshield area near the top better.

When the rest of your car is tinted the clear cups almost look white on the windshield. The black cups are much less visible.

Spot the cups? Hint, the V1 is just above the drivers side of the mirror

You have the same issue I have LouG. The dots don't hide as much as we'd like. I do wonder if black cups would be less noticeable there?

I'm considering painting that little section black for a more uniform appearance in my case.

I don't mind Bloovey. I've been stopped at alcohol checkpoints and the cop hasn't even noticed the V1 from a metre away. They look at the GoPro.
But I'm more concerned about thieves seeing it.

Good luck with that one
