Hey everyone,

I was curious who has all had the first and second version of Valentine's K-band false rejection firmware? I still have the first iteration, and I am CONSTANTLY getting K-band falses from BSM systems. Does the second generation of rejection firmware help with this?

I kept thinking that it wasn't worth upgrading my V1 just for the newest firmware; I might as well wait for new hardware. Well that was like 3 years ago and I''m still waiting :)

I've got a couple of videos around here showing differences between TMF2 on and off. :)

I used my V1 with TMF1 on a vacation trip to Florida in February and the BSM alerts just about drove me and my wife nuts. As soon as we got back home I sent the V1 in for an update which included TMF2. The reduction in BSM alerts was dramatic. However, some would still "break through" every once in a while.

TMF2 plus using an app like JBV1 (maybe even JBV1 with TMF1) can help to almost eliminate GM and Honda BSM alerts. However, Mazda alerts at around 24.123GHz are still pretty tough to eliminate. Of course, as @InsipidMonkey stated, you may want to wait a couple of weeks before making a decision on updating.

I am having a hard time finding the videos- I’ve queried; was this a thread or just a post in a thread?

Here they are. The bottom of each of these posts. :)

Gentleman, given the things I'm hearing about the state of VR and lack of responses or activity out of there, I have the same question as OP. Should I send in my V1 3.893 for upgrade? I really would like the TMF2. The K band is unusable with TMF1. My '16 Passat transmits on 24.16 constantly as well. What's weird is it still transmits even if I turn off radar adaptive cruise control, blind spot assist, even all the assists I can turn off, still transmits. Also considering giving in and getting an R3 (R7 too expensive). The Unidens are insane but I love JBV1. Incredible app.

Yes. That, or wait for them to start selling new units again and see if there are other improvements.

TMF2>>TMF1

Escort (TSR +Auto) >> TMF1

Get the update. Regardless of what happens with VR, there is no risk to getting the TMF2 firmware upgrade, which is currently still available.

I have heard that turning off the nannies just turns off alerts, not transmission.

Correct. With GM vehicles, I have even seen the BSM continue to transmit even after the ignition is turned off, up until the interior accessories/lights go into auto power down.

Isn't the upgrade like a $100 just to get the software upgrade? Just seems like a lot of money, unless it is really worth it.

Already sent mine in. $79 plus shipping which was almost about a hundred bucks total. from what I've researched the TMF2 upgrade is a good one. I hope it helps me run K band because now I can't even have K band on.

You usually get the latest update at that time.

TMF1 with K-band muting works in our late model GM cars with BSM and adaptive cruise without problems. I YaV1 or JBV1 also.

Turnaround time was excellent. I had it back in just three to four days so somebody is alive at VR. Now time to test it out!

Hoping the V1 new update fixes those 'darn' 'falses' from Honda / Chryslers.

Hold on. If you sent in your V1 for any sort of update, I'd expect it to now be 3.8952 or higher.
Have you checked it since getting it back?
[Edit] Nevermind, based on your previous post saying it was 3.893, I believe you have checked and it's now 3.8945.

We ask because they might have given you something above 3.8952 and that would be some news in light of the 5 month out-of-stock situation!

[Edit] This shows something that I didn't know for sure. There is probably a hardware limitation where 3.8952 can't be used. That tells me that maybe 3.8945 and 3.8952 are more equal than I would have thought. (Similar to OS versions for Intel or AMD)
