From: Radar Detectors - Uniden Support

Fixes (v 1.50 – 07/24/2019)

  • K block feature to improve BSM detection. Notch filter for 24.194 – 24.205GHz.
  • When Speed camera(or Redlight) and radar alert are being detected at the same time, radar alert is displayed after speed(or redlight) camera alert – this is a bug fix current R3 skips “radar alert” when detecting speed(or redlight camera) and radar alerts simultaneously.

Nice! I personally am beyond afraid of turning off a small tiny part of the spectrum for some less noise...

No Mac support at this time :( guess I'll have to wait. Very curious to try this after living on 1.37 since I purchased the detector
Most of us still think 1.37 was the best firmware for the R1/R3 so your not missing much! :)

I ran 1.48 for a few weeks...couldn't live with it. Maybe this new FW will be a better solution for my area.
Way too many BSMs then usual right? That drove me NUTTTTTSS!

Hmmm now if only I could get the better filtering of 1.37 Plus K block... well perhaps the K block will help squash enough of the BSM's that i was getting with 1.48 so it will be quieter than 1.37... now for the notch filter is it a complete elimination of detection or just a sensitivity reduction in that frequency range? cause I'd be ok with city mode sensitivity in the K block range, but totally eliminating the ability to detect in that range is a risk (small but still)...

Just downloaded V1.5 for the R3. Boy, the sound portions took a while to download.

Looks like this version has an updated red light db dated July 4, 2019. Anybody know if this db can be put on the R7 so that it has the latest?

Yeah, that was my only issue with FW1.48.

Got it installed. Odd they needed a separate RLC database, but I guess since they’ve been sitting on the final version since May they didn’t want to rebuild a new version with the updated DB.

Looks like in Dark Mode the dot still doesn’t follow the heartbeat behavior and still appears in either corner or middle of the extreme bottom edge of the screen instead of being in the center of the screen and just moving around in a tiny square (or not moving at all). And they still limit K to a minimum of 30% in Advanced mode.

I’ll be very glad if K Block works as a bandaid to keep from getting hounded by long-distance CRV detections! That quickly grew into such a frustration that I began to dread using it.

I wish they wouldn’t keep additional changes they’re working on a secret. They’ll never please everyone, but even just letting us know what they’d like to do in the foreseeable future would inspire hope.
