Sorry to hear. I know the feeling.
Where was it mounted?
File a police report?
Keep an eye on Craigslist. Its a longshot but maybe it will turn up there and the cops can get it back for you.

Windshield mount with direct wire, so if it pops up for sale it won’t have a power cord. I no longer have full coverage since my car was “totaled”, so no point in filling a police report if the insurance company won’t pay out.

Should I file a police report anyway?

I’d rather catch the guy so he doesn’t do this to anyone else. For me this is a minor bump in the road, but if I was a 19 year old who just busted out my last weeks pay check only for it to get stolen... We’ll that would be just awful.

I'm very sorry too! I just wish that I could have seen them doing this! It would be the last thing that they ever ripped off from anyone! I hate a f****** thief with a passion!

Wouldn't kill anyone over theft, but a serious beating & multiple dog bites would be in line

I wouldn't kill them either but they would have got a serious @ss kicking with anything and everything that I could have picked up and went upside their head with!

Your location says Texas, did the theft occur in Texas or somewhere else?

I would do it online if your city will do it. It won’t help find it, but if it pops up on the internet the SN has been officially reported stolen. It also gives the city stats of high theft areas so they can step up patrols if they have the resources to do so.

Let local pawn shops know the serial number, check eBay listings, download apps OfferUp and LetGo to search local listings, and check CraigsList. Hate this happen to you but glad you maintained a positive attitude! Hope it finds its way back to you !

Sorry to hear what happened. Insurance companies typically will not cover radar Detectors.

Good Luck!
but they may cover glass damage (subject to deductibles)

Contact your local FB groups for car meets. Those are the places to tell people and to look for it. Check FB marketplace as well. All of those local car groups have their band of thieves in them, and they usually quick-sell gear like that. Give specific details and such about the detectors. I've had similar happen to friends of mine, smash and grab crimes and then suddenly one of the local wannabe ricers has some nice gear that was recently stolen from someone else that he bought for a, "steal". However, some of them keep the gear for themselves. If you ever come across another R7 in your area, have a peep at it and make sure it's not yours.

Sorry to hear this! The feeling is terrible... A few years back I had the rear spoiler pried off my car. Nothing like walking back to your car, using the remote to pop the trunk and seeing it open wide when it used to only lift an inch due to the weight of the spoiler.

For the R7 thief, I hope karma is a b****!

that sucks, i would contact uniden support and see if uniden could do anything “special” to that detector if it ever tries to update ;)

Also report it to them in case the person tries to get tech support or warranty support, they know it’s been stolen and can hopefully keep it like VR does (while not tipping off the thief)
