I see buydig has the R7 for 499 now. Anyone have any history with them? I’m usually loyal to @BestRadarDetectors but 100 bucks off is too good to pass up. If Tom had that deal I’d be checking out instantly

Bought a dfr 7 there last week, arrived in 3 days no complaints so far... No idea about after sale support, but a dfr 7 for 129 was a steal even if it is discontinued

It's kind of sad from my perspective. These huge companies can lower their prices without taking a hit. The company I work for and Tom's are " ma and pa type, I don't mean that disrespectfully. If we sold at that price, we couldnt break even .

no I get it, I'm just saying from a small business standpoint, even though tom and I are competitors or the company is. I dont think its " fair" how they can go so low. Put everyone on the same playing field and let them compete in other ways. Case in point. I give out my cell, if a customer needs help, they can call me, or things like that . Just venting, I dont fault people for taking a great offer

They are an authorized seller and I believe they do a good amount of volume. They’re doing the discount to price match the other people doing this. I’m not sure if they’re supposed to be dropping the price like this since it does create issues if they’re not sticking to MAP. I’ve asked Uniden about this, but haven’t heard back yet.

I’ve bought three of my TVs from BuyDig, and never had a problem with the TV nor delivery. Had one issue with a rebate which they took care of within 12 hours of my email to them.

Its an Authorized Dealer MAP Violation and I would bet anything it gets corrected today or they will find themselves no longer authorized to sell Uniden in the future. These companies pull these stunts usually in the evenings and hope they dont get caught and then claim they were closed so they could not correct the mistake in time. Its not ethical business and we will not price adjust these violations.

I agree with you 100% and I love my Unidens...... but... I’m in the opinion that Uniden gives brakes to the big corporate sellers. This was clearly displayed during the R7 release. Even Best Buy is discounting. I took a pic of a tag yesterday.

Thanks for the confirmation that it is a MAP violation. I’ve pulled the info about it from my site and video.

Edit: Wow fitz, that’s even more direct and intentional. What’s up with all this?

it's all about the $$ and lets be honest, uniden or any big company is not going to ban them from selling their product, they make too much off the big companies. worst case they "spank" them on their hands and say, don't ever do that again, until the next time.

Who is to say Uniden does not give special deals to the larger retailers like Buydig or BestBuy? They would be crazy not to.

If I am Uniden I want to move my product, and Volume is where I make money. If one of the larger retailers wants a special deal, they get it and the other dealers don't really know about it or get the same deal. Its easier and cheaper for Uniden to make large shipments to these companies and some, like Best Buy even take possession in China and take care of the shipping. If best buy commits to taking 10K units a month and another outfit only takes 10K units a year, who might get a better discount?

Does everyone think that GM sells vehicles for the same price to each dealer? The sticker might look the same at each dealership but there are ways to provide incentives The higher volume dealers get better floor plan assistance (they don't pay a lot, or any interest) they get better holdback money or other incentives, based on volume, stock and region.

Electronics is no difference, in fact the industry is a little quicker to give rebates to higher volume sellers based on certain conditions. The technology moves so fast, you don't want to get stuck with something older and pricing is how you move some of these things.
