I'm considering running the OBDLink MX+ on a second phone with DashCommand along with JBV1 on my primary phone. I just can't seem to find a good auto locking cell phone mount. Does anyone have any suggestions. I want auto-locking so it's fast and easy to mount both phones at the same time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Drive fast, drive hard. no speeding tickets sir!

Best one I’ve found: but have to be able to turn off heat on vent in cold weather or phone will over heat.

And if you have a CD player, I put two nylon nuts on the knob which act as stops so I don’t overtighten:

I have this one and it works like a charm. My phone doesn't move even on the bumpiest roads, and we have lots of those here.

Your point about the vents is true though. I've found I have to mount mine so it's not getting the full blast of A/C from the vent (which means placing the mount off to the side of the vent vs in the middle) or after about 20-30 min the screen starts to flicker due to the cold on the phone. Heat isn't a problem for me, I usually use floor or floor/defrost.

I currently use a magnetic mount also, but I used to use this. Mounting a phone is easy. Removing the phone takes a little more effort. I had mine mounted on the windshield, but not sure that’s the location you’re looking to mount.

I use a Scosche Magic Mount attached to a ProClip base. The phone gets neither hot nor cold because air from vent is deflected to sides by the ProClip base.
Damn that's slick. I may have to order one!
