@ferius I don't know how familiar you are with the project we are going to be launching next week but part of your app does overlap with ours. Ours overlaps with pretty much every similar app out there because it's being developed to be a complete solution to everything that this community has wanted in a mobile app.
We have a small development team however I will be working on this full-time, and there are parts of the project that can be contracted out to be coded or whatever. This includes certain parts of app design, data source integration, map API / SDK work, countermeasure device integration and etc.
We are developing natively for Android, iOS and for standard browser use.
Your app is your own and what you do with it is up to you, however if you wanted to be a part of the development team for our project (Arkangel) instead, know that there would be lots of opportunities for development of features people have wanted related to your current app as well as compensation potential, too. We also have access to a large IT infrastructure and various data sources, software licenses, premium mapping sdks and apis, so forth and so on.
If this is something that interests you feel free to shoot me a p.m. about it. I'm sure the other members wouldn't mind providing their opinion on all of this as well, but either way the choice lies with you.
I do cross platform development for ios and Android, and its no small task to make something adaptable. I use a product called Xamarin from Microsoft, and it allows you to create one central version with ios/android specific "stubs" that talk to the device. Lately I have been developing only android versions because industry generally favors the Android ruggedized machines like the Zebra TC70x. Depending upon how this was developed it may be an easy port (IE if in C# already in a Xamarin Android container) or may be a complete functional rewrite from Android favored Java to ios Favored Objective-C. Either way I will keep an eye out if I can help, I would be interested in this.
I'm an iPhone user but uses a dedicated Android phone just to run JBV1. I do use the hotspot on my phone for longer trips. I'd like an iPhone apps that grabs all the CSA when I'm driving in a buddy's car. I usually use Waze to keep an eye out, but more combines sources (PAWS etc...) would be awesome!
