Im feeling what VR should do to appease customers minds is take down a waiting list of orders to let people know that the company is not done for. Im hoping Radenso is able to one day aquire the company as they would be the best fit for it.

I have not personally called, but others have said that VR is taking orders now, and holding credit card info to be charged when shipped. No firm date or price given from VR when that will actually be tho ...

That all seems very 2019 compared to everything else. Apps to control your home, apps to store thousands of songs, apps to chart your health, apps for anything you can think of.
Why load a device with tech that a phone already has?
It sounds like all the others are very 1989.
Why load what should be a high tech device with tech? Is the V1 now a low tech unit as a stand alone detector with the price tag of a high tech unit?

Can you elaborate on what you are saying?

Sure it was regarding when you said "why load a device with tech". I would consider a radar detector in the 4 to 5 hundred range (all in) to be a high tech unit (or at least priced like one) with more stand alone features built in. I get the app being able to compensate for missing features but the V1 is premium priced since the other high end units can be had for about the same price. JohnBoy is providing the app for free at zero cost to Mike and great benefit. Things like built in GPS at this price point should be included and unless you run Ka only are must for any unit today to be functional as a stand alone detector. Who knows, maybe it's added on the "new" unit.

For most units today the K pollution problem stems from BSM. How does GPS help that?

Is Junk Fighter any better than Uniden’s K filter or are they about the same? Does TMF2 filter out Hondas 24.198 +/- ?
No and no! Uniden's K filter has worked better for me than TMF2 and no, TMF2 does not filter out Honda Acura 24.198+.

GPS alone doesn't do it all but as we know it allows you to block out known falses in local driving like speed signs (which are pretty abundant in my area), automatic doors and any other fixed false signals which all helps. Also allows you to set up quiet ride since it knows your speed so that's some more filtering. I can't speak for other units but at least with the R7 the combo of built in settings/features when configured once have almost completely eliminated any K falsing from BSM systems on a typical drive (usually 1 or none) at least for me. Prior to that I had K band shut off since it's not used much where I drive but there are some still around.

GPS isn't the end all but when combined with other features all combine to minimize the falsing on K. The one thing I do like (and it's in the App) is the ability to set profiles based on location but that was more when I had the R1/3 which I never could get dialed in on K to be quiet enough to have it turned on but would have liked to have it turn on in a couple of towns that I know run K in one car. I do look forward to what Valentine brings out and Radenso's next offering which may combine and hopefully improve on the best of the V1/JBV1 and the R7. We won't know till it happens but I would have a hard time not pulling out the credit card.

Detectors aren't high Tech in the general scheme of things. They're a very basic means of detecting a doppler radar system. Some have GPS, but it's very limited in application. Some have filtering, but none have the GM filter that JB has devised.
They're half the price of a top phone but with a fraction of the technology.
That's why V1/JBV1 is superior to everything else in all but ultimate range.

Ppl can buy the savvy and plug it into the obd2.

Personally. I’m not fan of this. More wires and stuff around. But it is a workaround gps low speed mute

Can you give us more context on how the phone call went? They usually don't spill the beans to customers via phone call as straightforward as all that.

What were your questions exactly and how did they respond to each? It would help to understand the flow of information.

I hope this is not some sort of gag.

What does "will look kind of the same" mean? And if it only looks kind of the same (but not completely the same), how can you send your existing V1 in to get the updated internals? Wouldn't you have to get a whole new detector back? And how can you get just new FW if the new FW is for a detector with updated internals? This doesn't quite all add up.

I don’t buy it at all. If the V1 is getting new internals and new firmware. Then why for past 4 month have they allowed owners of newer Va to send in their units for the present fw upgrade. I would be pissed if I sent my V1 for an $89 upgrade to the fw and pay shipping when a new V1 with new internals and new fw could be had 2 weeks later

Brainstorm69!

I Agree! That's What I Was Told "Verbatim"!
As To Newer Technologies In the New V1 Pertaining To Patents?
They-(V1) Aint Talking! This Is What Caused ALL Their Delays!

And! TallyHo, I Knows Somebody!!! ;-)
The Info-(Skinny/Down-Low) Is Accurate! They, At Valentine One, Are Not Happy With the Delays!
Lawyers! Lawyers! And More Lawyers! And! That's ALL I Was Told!

Expect New V1's In 2-Weeks! or, So! With A Pri$e Increase of Over $400!

Post automatically merged:
TheSkyIsFalling!

The Last Upgrade You Did, Was Not To The "NEW" Internals! Nor Firmware! With New Plugs!
They Haven't Set A Pri$e Yet On the Upgrade For Older V1's As of Yet!!!
