These threads are like whack a mole.
My wish is for a simple black box windscreen mount detector, no screen, maybe an internal speaker. Even disguised as something else if poss.
With all all features being app based.
A plus would be that necessitating an app would drive the anti appers completely nuts.
Stealthy would be good. That's proper stealth not part time stealth that some brands offer.
In reality, what I've got now suits me perfectly.

Yeah I think we're going to create a V2 / upcoming product megathread to prevent more threads from being created and that one can be the only one where these discussions take place because they are popping up way too often.

don't forget about the same threads that were created 2-3 years ago.

I am sorry but that's why I thread crapped intitially since it's the same question asked in different ways over the past 5 months like HONESTLY WTF?!!!! JUST GET OVER IT IT'S EITHER HERE OR IT ITISN"T !~!!

I mean speculation means shit honestly shit....litterly honestly shit...I can speculate that Mike V will place fecal matter on the CPU to cool it down....that is a total shit speculation but yeah it's a speculation!

Some speculation is fun but the amount of V2/new VR products/services threads that happen is totally unnecessary, that's why I think we need a single megathread for it.

Yeah I thought the patent thread was the speculation thread but I digress.

Personally I hope that Radenso comes up with something before Mike Va....lentine.

The point is to keep the patent thread about patents and any other general talk here. A good chunk of the posts in that thread have nothing to do with patent discussion.

Patent discussion is generally related to new VR products/services though - the problem is those threads get off-topic really easy. Patents/new VR stuff could easily all fit in the same thread if it manages to keep itself on track.

True, but it never seems to keep itself on track.

I'd be shocked if he rolled out the same unit 4 months later. He could have flown to china and had any part he wished made for him and taken home thousands in a suitcase within a week :) I would think new website or revamped one at the least along with a well upgraded detector is on the way. Could be wrong but OCD people do not run out of parts to build the product that pays the bills.... JMHO
Straight up. why wouldn’t he roll out the same unit?

It’s like this. The OG redline had superior range. Uniden overall has better range (my lrd950 had better ka 34.7 n 35.5 than both my V1s (No idea on k band because at the time. K band wasn’t used))

Mike is no dummy. He could have easily made a V1 that could match or surpass the OG redline for range back then. But he didn’t. Same goes for the numeric display.

Mike doesn’t make the V1 to be number 1 in sales. He doesn’t care that other manufacturers outrange his V1 or has fancy display .

Mike builds the V1 based on old school thinking. Simple, effective and RELIABLE

It would be great if range were able to be extended out to the level of, say, the Pro-M. Otherwise really all I want is 1) updated BSM filtering to eliminate as much as possible all false alerts and 2) an expansion of the API to provide for not just quieting a signal but full-on removing it (no audible alert, no bogey counter, nothing), a true mute. Those two things would be sufficient for pretty much everyone, I think, though some will still want “moar range!”

So...a windshield mount remote detector? Maybe with a Tom-Tom built into the front so it looks like a GPS?

The market for radar detectors is saturated and Mike needs to sell 1,000 units a month to maintain it. Obviously they can't. Developing new products requires new technology and investment. They can't guarantee sales and profits.

I don’t know how long you’ve been around this hobby. But it’s safe to say Mike V doesn’t give a rat’s ass. After Escort figured out RDR, Mike just kept plugging along at his pace. He has survived this long. I’m sure he’ll be fine with a few thousand sales.

I love that I can leave it on my windshield, even in direct sunlight and it'll just work when I turn my car on.

I wouldn't mind seeing the V1 become stealth. I mean stealth. Not like the R7 where one is immune and the next one isn't.

Uniden seems to get a pass for some well documented issues. Stealth well maybe, windshield mount only works on 50% of vehicles along with the bsm filtering problems on the R1 and R3. I've said this many times you get them to believe the hype you have half the battle one. Just tell me what it really can do and let me figure out if the unit will work for me. JMHO

Confirmation bias. Peer pressure. Single issue focus. If I bought a phone with half the Uniden problems I'd be returning it and never touching the brand again.
Uniden really has come out of the poo smelling of roses.

Is Junk Fighter any better than Uniden’s K filter or are they about the same? Does TMF2 filter out Hondas 24.198 +/- ?

thanks

While we are going over a wish list, how about an option to auto ignore threads based on speculation.
Thank you for the Ignore Thread option, for threads like these!
