I'm creating this thread so that we can discuss possible new features that we want to see or possible new features confirmed for the new Valentine product. What do you want to see? What do you expect? Rumors have been floating around that something new is on the horizon. I created this thread so that we can keep the patent thread specific to patent talk.

DO NOT DISCUSS THE V1 BEING OUT OF STOCK. THIS THREAD IS NOT THE PLACE FOR IT.

Apart from the obvious range stuff, I'm hoping for improved KA band and I would like to see future product integration capabilities such as a Valentine dash cam. I doubt GPS would be included, but I also REALLY want better detection for MRCD and Poliscan. Rumors of a new display have me giddy. I'm excited to see what it has in store.

With that fellow enthusiasts - talk to me. Hopefully, this thread isn't redundant. Mods, please close if you deem the thread redundant. My goal was to keep the patent talk solely to the patent thread.

Question - Would you like to see audible voice alerts on the future Valentine product?

Not hating or anything bro but what's the point of discussing about something that's not available at the moment. Once something comes out then talking about it makes sense, ya know? Until then taking about imaginary unit with lots of hopes of this and that will disappoint you at the end.

We've been discussing the future Valentine product in the Patent thread for pages now. Hopefully, this thread helps clear some of that stuff up. Also, the point of this thread is to discuss anything and everything that we already know about the Valentine product that seems to be coming. Frees of the patent thread...

Escort holds the patent for detector attached driving cam.

I think Valentine should embrace the App and smart phone integration and make a detector that fully implements into a mobile format, perhaps hire the creator of JBv1 and have them work on a app , and work on better detection ranges and filtering as well as MRCD

Did not know that. Why do they hold a patent on EVERYTHING? Seeing an app that mirrors JBV1 from Valentine would be AMAZING.

A deployable V1 drone that is hovering 59.8764 feet above your car scanning for any police activity ahead is the new hotness in the upcoming V1. Same goes for orbital EMP strike within any LEO in your path the strike happens 1min before you reach the detect zone so it doesnt affect you.

The V1 is dead in my books until further notice, we can dream of amazing scenarios and detectors, right now look into what @xydrine and the tight team is developing and will be announced in few days until then I order an orbital ion strike on a Tribium production facility!

Don't want to derail thread, but are we talking about a detector? Why is the V1 dead? I think it's doing pretty well especially with the apps developed for it.

Well of course I mean Mike Valentine has a: "high probability of intercept radar detector unit" patent I mean what else does he means by intercept?! I think that's a highly physical and electronic nature of the title an EMP is the way to go!

I think that Mike Valentine is funding Space X to deploy 2560 microsats capable of covering the continental US with 1 km resolution and able to beam down specific K and KA jamming frequencies that will be engaged by his next platform users. The jamming frequencies will render all K and KA radar inaccurate!

Or he might just have given up and retired and this is his exit strategy since he is too man to admit his failure. Either way win win.

Edit: obligatory....I hate the V1 clan mentality I don't see the reason why one should be Soo obsessed with 90s tech unless they are a collector of electronic junk.

Edit 2:. You asked for what if scenario so I gave it to you. I mean what if Elephant Hebrew Mohammad Jesus descended upon us?! I don't know but it's a possibility, who knows!

I already suggested this idea! Could tie it into your navigation system to scan even further ahead, just need a drone that could keep up with you. More joking at the time but you never know with the way things are going these days, I think it would be problematic to say the least, though.

Regardless, I'm really debating what to do with this thread. It seems we have a new "V2" or similar thread every other day. I think we may create a megathread to keep all v2-related talk in it, and kill future ones (nobody do this yet, the thread will need guidelines so it will be posted by staff if we decide to do this). We'll see.

Sorry if it's already been done. We've basically been discussing a lot of the topics in the Patent thread and I really just wanted to get some of the off topic stuff to a dedicated thread so the patent thread could stay just that. I apologize. I wanted this to be that dedicated V2 Mega thread.

It's okay, we're going to discuss in the staff area how to handle these types of threads.

You don't need a drone you can use the old style CB Antenna and attach a sensor package to it, the old cb/ham antennas were magnet mount about 1 meter tall, that would bypass most traffic besides semi. The electrical wire could be the antenna itself or any hollwed up tube that's spring mounted at the base, the top could handle a 300gram weight since that was the mass of the ball on most of those anetnnas

I think the ultimate police detector would be a way to somehow detect the GPS trackers that police equip on all their vehicles, or hack into their system and somehow see where all the officers are lol, but that would be illegal to say the least..

I think VR should continue down the path of an open API and juice the hardware, letting 3rd parties solve whatever problems that creates.

Escort holds the patent for detector attached driving cam.
No they don't. Escort sells a product that uses the 12v RD power supply to power a dashcam. VR has a patent application on using a camera to detect it's surroundings to help aid false alerts.

Heh, I've always thought towing an RD equipped kite above your vehicle but below overpass height would be a boon to detection range.

I don't think these threads are negative to the forum, clearly there's an interest in V1 speculation and AFAICT there's been very little moderation happening due to problems in this sub-forum. Maybe it's best to just let things playout.

Let me preface this by saying I don’t know much about the patent process- or if a patent would even be needed here-

Could the V1 have a facelift without the need to go through a lengthy patent process?

Like updating the display - show freq

I think Mike will probably stay with the LED signal strength meter.

I guess just cosmetic changes, they don’t need a patent?

IMHO, they should close and LOCK all of the V1 threads until new product is on the shelf. This crazy stuff posted every day is getting OLD.

I think the new york post is trash so I just choose not to read it :)

I'm no expert but to give up 4 months of revenue for a face lift is what VR has done, then this company should team up with Sears.....
