What's new in this release?

* Band-specific hold times
* Inset weather map relocated to top left corner of screen
* Reverse option for overlay auto theming
* Persistent alert map option removed (now always true when alert map enabled; minimizes map memory leaks and map activations that count against the app)
* CSA range is now a precise range instead of a minimum range
* CSA announcement (when terse disabled) now includes number of thumbs up (or "unconfirmed" when thumbs up = 0) and general direction (ahead or behind)
* CSA min speed option removed (mostly redundant with silent ride)
* When HD alert table enabled, PAWS air speed ("xxx kts") replaced with air speed in knots and vertical speed in feet per minute ("xxx/yyy")
* Bug fixes
* 10 July 2019 camera database

In case you missed it, see the 1.6.0 release notes for how to unlock Offline Mode (run without a V1).

@BlueV1 There's also an option to hide the map type button.

I lucked out and had it downloaded before you created this thread. :)

I appreciate you adding that feature! Looks great! Thanks again!

For those of you who like to see weather radar, have you tried the inset map with 1.6.1 yet? I'd like feedback on the new location for it. Thanks...

I do like the look and positioning of the new inset map. :)

I still use the default large weather map background most of the time and it switches over to the alert map on an alert. That's totally because I don't have unlimited data and driving for many hours a day might push me over my shared amount of family data. We have an 8GB plan and I've allotted myself 3.25GB of that.
If I drove less, I'd totally use the alert map 100% of the time and this new inset weather map looks great!
That brings up a question. Does having the Alert Map active all the time but running in the background use less data than having the Alert Map visible all the time? I'd guess that it does use less data, but I haven't taken the time to test it.

@johnboy00, If you ever need feedback like this on a feature, I think many of us would love to discuss it! I don't know if you are ever reluctant to ask, but in my opinion, you shouldn't be!

The alert map is Google maps. If you don't use the live traffic overlay, it only uses data when it loads new tiles not from local cache, which it only does when the map camera (your view of the map) is moved. Camera movement is suspended while the map is minimized, so it shouldn't use any data in this state. I'm not 100% sure that live traffic won't continue to update while the map is minimized.

Also, camera movement is suspended while the app is backgrounded, whether or not the map is minimized in JBV1.

I just made a note to auto disable live traffic while the map is minimized or app backgrounded. That should 100% eliminate all map-related data usage while in those states.

I was hoping that you were going to say that it's downloading data all the time in which case I've not hit too much data in use. :)
I'm not concerned about the existing data amount. :)

There's a bug in 1.6.1 where if you disable the alert map with a long press of the marks button (the button with a GPS icon over a map), the map is disabled and you can't re-enable it. I thought I had removed that functionality, but it looks like I forgot to finish removing it. Please use the HIDE button when you prefer to not see the map.

Wow. I wasn't really expecting the change in CSA range to a precise, instead of a minimum, value. Very nice. Based on the info about north oriented CSA boxes and the differences between distances to edges vs. distances to corners it appeared that change would be pretty difficult. I would be interested in how you accomplished the change. Was it just a different setting in VVaze or was something more complicated involved?

Anyway, thanks again for a providing JBV1 for everyone's use.

You just have to get a larger box and filter on range to target. That way, you can maintain a specific range without having to get a new box every second. I was already getting a larger box before (hence the minimum range). All I did was add an additional filter on the selected range.

Thanks for the explanation.

I just thanked you in the other thread "What's different", and wanted to drop in and thank you here too, and bump the thread for peeps who don't own a V1 but want to use JBV1 in off-line mode for planes and LEO reports from that "other" app.

Ya'll gotta try this. Another awesome CM and we need to thank @johnboy00 for his contribution.

:thumbsup:

Where's this weather thing in the corner of which you speak? How do I enable?
