I just finished up my Radenso RC M review if you'd like to check it out.

As usual, it's pretty long and in depth. It took a few days to write, but I'm glad to finally put together a comprehensive review of the detector.

Nice job @Vortex
Exactly how I would rate/review the RCM. Still ticket free with mine and love it

Great review Vortex!! I have the RC-M with ALP and I think your review is spot on. No dash cam to share the massive number of saves I've had with this setup but, it has been well worth the investment.

Any news on when Laser Gun ID will brought to the RC-M with ALP integration?

I'm blissfully ignorant to this point but it would be cool to know what guns I'm being targeted with. I see you mentioned Radenso possibly adding Laser Gun ID to the RC-M in a February 2018 video but we have yet to see that feature.

Great write up! I concur wholeheartedly with your observations though you have expressed them more eloquently than I ever could have!

Kudos!

@Vortex , you mention:

"I personally don’t like the NR DSP’s interface. To use the GPS lockouts, you have to buy the Bluetooth module and run an app on your phone. When you do this, your external speaker stops working, one of the control pad buttons stops working for laser, and both stop working to mute radar signals. There is also no dedicated GPS lockout button since everything is completely handled phone. There is somewhat of a workaround by using a third-party bluetooth Flic button, but that is not ideal either.
This all happens because the control pad, bluetooth module, and external speaker all plug into the same port in the CPU and so the ALP can’t talk to everything at once. If the ALP CPU had a standard headphone jack for the speaker and Bluetooth built in the CPU, we wouldn’t have to deal with all these issues. In its current form though with these limitations, I like the Net Radar DSP less than either the Max Ci or RC M.
That said, if you’re not as concerned about GPS lockouts and/or you do mostly highway driving, you can save about $800 by going for the NR DSP over the RC M."

I'm not sure that is very clear - "if you're not as concernbed about GPS lockouts... go with NR DSP." I think if you are willing to use a smartphone (which I do with it), you can be concerned about GPS lockouts (as I am) and enjoy the system.

I also didn't see any mention of k-band range tests with low power k-band guns (unless I missed it). In my mind, that's a trade off with RC M vs. the competition.

Just a point of view.

Thanks guys! I'm glad you're finding it helpful. :)

I'm not sure that is very clear - "if you're not as concernbed about GPS lockouts... go with NR DSP." I think if you are willing to use a smartphone (which I do with it), you can be concerned about GPS lockouts (as I am) and enjoy the system.
You can use GPS lockouts with the NR DSP and BT of course, but it's just not as clean and seamless as others and you lose some basic functionality. You can work around the limitations, but I'm not a fan of the setup.

I can think up a little better way to word the GPS lockout bit though. hmm...

Edit: I updated the wording to say:

"That said, if you're okay with having to run a phone for GPS lockouts and not having a dedicated mute button unless you use a Flic, and/or you do mostly highway driving, you can save about $800 by going for the NR DSP over the RC M."

That should be better and more clear. Thank you!

I also didn't see any mention of k-band range tests with low power k-band guns (unless I missed it). In my mind, that's a trade off with RC M vs. the competition.
You're right. I didn't cover that. Do you have some links to tests? If it's a big deal, I'd be happy to add something in to the review.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about that. Thank you. I'll add this in to the review.

Edit: I've added a section to discuss TS Rej High's impacts not only BSM filtering, but also performance. Thank you!

This is something I love about writing articles. It's easy to go in and add additional content. I can't do that with videos once they're published.

And I appreciate and respect your pursuit of informing everyone about the trade-offs of the various detectors and equipment you review. There's no perfect system for everyone and letting them know about your experiences - and those of the members of this forum - is invaluable.
