Oh well that's interesting. It's not showing up discontinued (yet?) elsewhere. If this is the case, maybe they don't want Escort Max360 sales cannibalizing Cobra DualPro sales? I wonder how many people are skipping the 360c to go for the original 360 for $150 less too.

I was looking at the 360 rather than the 360c, mostly due to price, and because I personally have no use for the wireless features.

Although due to the profusion of MRCD and MRCT in my area (Maryland), I am not sure either would meet my needs.

Given you are the 'authority' on-line with RD's and your reviews recommend going with the original over the 'c' unless you need/want the wireless feature, I am sure there are a lot of people saving the difference. That coupled with the fact there seems to be a lot of complaints about the wi-fi not connecting and having issues further pushing people toward the original. Honestly, I am surprised it took them this long to discontinue the product (if it really is) since it was a direct competitor to their newer 'flagship' model. I guess they wanted to dwindle their stock down to a manage level before calling it discontinued as some people scoop up deals like this where as others will not touch an 'older' product.

They had 3 360 platforms out which is a bit nuts. So one of them had to go, but i dont see the cobra dp 360 being out for more than a year before it gets axed. its not selling very well. The genre that buys Cobra isnt going to shell out 450 bucks for a detector when they are used to 80-150 for a detector.

I'm kind of surprised too. The 360c matches the design style they're using with the Redline EX and iXc too so if they're going for that look and feel across the brand, it'd make sense to axe the original 360. Maybe the x80 will get a design refresh, similar to the GT-1?

lmao...

That's a really good point. Maybe it'll have better luck under the Cobra brand instead of the Beltronics brand, but the DSP9200BT got pulled even though it was a good performer. It'll be interesting to see how long the DP360 and Road Scout last.

Regarding the discontinuation of the Beltronics GT-360 and the introduction of the Cobra Dual Pro 360: I think Escort's hand was forced in some ways. They made an exclusive deal with BuyDig / Beach Camera to sell the Beltronics GT-360. BuyDig / Beach Camera was the only retailer of it, but they didn't honor their minimum advertised pricing agreement with Escort. Escort wasn't happy with the low price they were charging ($262) [*1], and wanted BuyDig / Beach Camera to sell it for $399 USD or more [*2]. Escort's solution to the stalemate was to simply discontinue the Beltronics GT-360 product and (IMO) give the middle finger to BuyDig / Beach Camera. They brought it back now as the Cobra Dual Pro 360, with a few changes in the interface, firmware, and housing - but otherwise it is a sister product of the Beltronics GT-360.

It was discontinued for distribution a while ago and we have not been able to order them for a long time. Escort probably wants to sell the remaining inventory directly at full price,

Oh great, the "Max" 360 morphed into the Beltronics GT360 into the Cobra Dual Pro 360. Even though it is the same platform as the "Max", because it's a Cobra it will now automatically start spewing 33.8 falses.

Morphing happens. David Lee Roth is
Morphing into actor Steve Martin. Actor Tom Hanks is morphing into Rush drummer Neil Peart.

It’s happens. Morphing happens. :)

I actually kind of liked the Max360, and was hoping that with its DSP, it would eventually be able to add in some Gatso and MRCD/MRCT features. That would have been really useful.

I personally have no use for the wireless feature in the Max360c, and certainly don’t feel like paying a premium for it. I don’t understand the thinking that went into that series of decisions.

Too bad.

Let's talk about real world performance of the 360 DP!!! I have been driving it daily since June 19 and the BSM/IVT rejection is as good if not better than the Max 360 I owned last year before selling it at a loss here in the "Sunflower State!" Today I was in Platte County which has thick foliage/hills...& had great warning of 2 LEO's stopped near bridge; I flipped a U turn to get a 2nd encounter & had plenty of time to slow down & watch the arrows flip front to rear quickly. As I approached a hill slowly (K band, mobile speed alert sign) the 360 DP sniffed it out, I manually locked out the nanny, and on return the display showed lockout in gray as expected. On I-29 (highway mode) there is a new NKCMO cop HQ. The 360 DP remembered from previous trip & did the auto-lockout smoothly!! Last week in town (auto mode) 2 LEO's were off axis for traffic stop & I had 1/2 mile alert!! Yesterday a LEO pulled into traffic from a gas station in Lansing Ks & when he switched on his rear KA antenna, I got a "Warp 9" alert thru a crowd of cars in front of me....awesome!!! I own a Uniden R1/RL Original/Radenso XP/Uniden 950 LRD & did own the Cobra 9200 DSP (no longer can be serviced due to unavailbilty of parts) and I must confess; this Cobra has quality feel in the hand...solid, love the mag-mount & love the arrows, voice/alert tones & glad I gave the company that had a history of sub-par level, leaky detectors a second chance! I hope others will follow if you want a plug & play with fewer bells & whistles & keeps the points off your license & insurance rates down!
