I am very very almost sortakinda ready to pull the trigger on one of these. I've been looking for a GT-360 for the simple reason that I am used to my Beltronics GT-7 tones and dislike the Escort ones. Now that it's confirmed the Cobra's ones are the same ones, one of the things that is still holding me back is the app:

- I have never used Escort Live. I am ready to start using it. Everywhere I read that the Cobra and Escort apps are the same.

- What of Cobra's database though ? Is there such a thing ? Is Cobra's app updated by other (non-Escort clones) Cobra branded radar detectors ?

Am I likely to end up with an Escort-like app in functionality, but with a database updated by an army if falsing (non Dualpro 360) Cobra detectors from previous generations ?

- Or is the Dual Pro 360 using Escort's app, updated by Escort's gps radar detectors, unrelated to whatever previous Cobra app might have been out there and with a database unaffected by other Cobra RDs ?

Thanks

the way i understand it it's the escort app with the cobra look. it shares all the database, escort live etc.

I have one I been running for a couple weeks and its actually better than the max 360 especially the filtering on bsm and a little more sensitive on ka band plus it has lo k setting if it gets to noisy and I actually run mine on lo k setting so it's super quiet around town and on the highway but I wouldn't recommend running that setting in the mountains...

I'm thinking of getting a other as my redline ex is driving me up the walls with 24.116 falses.

Check out Escargot. Need android phone gets data from daze. Only problem I've had is it drops speed limit a lot.

Haven't seen much about it for a while. The developer is a member here. @nbulatovic He apparently hasn't been on the site in over a year.

K, my DualPro 360 just arrived. It was a whole adventure finding the manual on their website, but I got it. I haven't mounted it yet, so far it has the same weight as my GT-7 but finish seems of a different level. Buttons are mushy, no click, doesn't inspire confidence, but then again given the price I paid for it I can't complain.

Can't wait to try it. Now, the difficult mission starts: locating @nbulatovic, and convincing him/her to make Escargot Drive work with it :)

It's not a bad unit as long as the rear antenna isn't defective

Yup, I hope it won't be. My logic / hopes are - may it be no worse than my GT-7, which I love (except for the nonexistent Laser detection, orders of magnitude worse than on my old RX-65).

I've had mine installed for about a week now. I'm assuming I do not have a rear antenna issue, as I've had ZERO falses from the rear. I've only had one false actually in the entire week. The damn thing, as others have stated, is really quiet. So quiet in fact, if it were not for the two long range Ka encounters I've picked up, I would be worried it was not working properly......... but it appears to be fine. I have "X" turned off. I'm running it in "Auto", with the speed mute set at 25 MPH. I think "Auto" does a really good job with "K" falses in strip centers and such, as Vortex commented on in another thread about this detector.

Ok, I'm'a gonna call this little guy "My Honda Detector" - it's insane how it's chattier than my kids :happyanim:

To be fair, we're talking New York City, in Highway mode, with everything enabled all the way. So - not a fair test.
Rear antenna looks fine, transition from front to back detection is fine.

What puzzles me a bit are the very, very frequent burps on X at around 10.523 - 10.530ghz, mostly around the upper (before and after George Washington bridge) Henry Hudson parkway. That X lasted steady or almost for close to a couple of miles. Eh, well.

All in all - I love the thing, and I feel at home.

Now, if Escort would be kind enough to release a 360c with Bel's tones (or uploadable tones, come on, it's almost 2020) and MRCD detection - I'd be set for the next gazillion years.

I’ve suspected all my detectors have FW glitches. They’ll pick up X in different spots that go on for a while then switch to K.
If they haven’t changed things, hold down Mark & sense when you turn it on and you’ll get a log file. When my GT’s rear ant developed a problem the log showed the issue.
