I'd start wide with KA, (especially if you ever go into NY), the stalker 34.7 guns are prone to drifting out of the KA narrow range. you wont have much for falses on KA band so wide is probably ok. Kwide may increase falsing, so depending on how much legit Kband you see you may be ok on narrow, but against I tend to start wide and then go narrow if I haven't seen anything outside wide for a while. Near me in Fl there is one Sheriff that runs K band 24.070 and therefor I must stay wide. TSF on does help with K falsing. make sure K filter is on as well. Auto mute will reduce the volume after a few seconds, so just make sure you pay attention after the volume drops (especially if you have the radio on), it's easy to forget that it's alerting if you don't hear the ongoing audio alert. :) let us know how you like it!

I just got another R1 right here on our classifieds section that only had 1 hour of run time on it! Thanks again @johnboy00 ! This makes my third one! I'll put it against any detector ever made! I installed it in Jane's Mustang this past weekend and she loves it! As far as filtering goes, I have all of them set up the same way, city mode, K filter and TFS on. All 3 of them are on 1.48. They are as quiet as church mice and still have plenty or range on K band and are pure killers on 34.7 and 35.5! She was running my Whistler CR95 which has plenty of range and is killer against I/O shots, but the K/Ka confusion finally got the best of her so I upgraded her to the new R1. She works in Greenville NC every day around 10,000 or so BSM's and door openers and the R1 is doing great for her as mine does for me!

I better get another before they are gone. My wife was just thrilled with RLC alerts thru Illinois on the last trip (Waze challenged!). She'll probably steal mine when she goes shopping now...

Yup, got a sheriff here at 24.07 too. They ran nothing but Ka a few months ago.

Thanks for the advice.
I'm going to change TSF to ON and change the K & Ka narrow back to OFF per the advice above.

Also, another question:
Is there a way on the DFR7 that you can get to actually see the time it's set to?
For example, right now it 10pm where I am in CT and 2am GMT, so I'm assuming that since I set the time to GMT - 5hrs and set DST to ON, that the DFR is set to 9pm EST (GMT -5hrs) and then back up an hour to actual time of 10pm EDT (with DST set to ON) but I'm assuming that, I can't really SEE the time anywhere that I could find to confirm this. Also, with DST set to ON, does that mean it will automatically adjust the hour when we go back and forth between EST and EDT throughout the year?
