I couldn't help notice this thread about the risks in using "other" apps.

Silent Ride muted a legit alert... No GPS Fix!

I try not to bash the "competition", because, well, it's all free, right.

I went to great lengths to make V1Driver fail safe. A lot users just go for eye candy and they know very little about what goes on under the hood.

There are dozens of fail safes in V1Driver. If anything is going wrong (and it does) V1Driver has always, unmuted and will not mute until it knows it's safe to do so.
The default settings are also very carefully set to operate SAFELY.

I don't pride myself on how "quiet" V1Driver makes a V1. I pride myself for never seeing threads like the one above. And the one above is not the first.
I never mind seeing threads that V1Driver didn't mute something, It's usually right, but sometimes it's a bug.

I see so many posts of iPhone users with a question or two and the immediate response is, dump V1Driver and get a dedicated Android and run X. I think that's really not the best advice.

Sorry, just had to get that out, don't wish to start a feud or something. I really appreciate many of the V1Driver users stepping up to defend V1Driver. You know who they are.

And to V1Driver users I'm well aware of what other apps do and don't do.

And, with the next release of iOS, and loosening of Apple's restrictions, we are hoping that new things are coming to make V1 Driver even greater.

Yeah I like that idea of a failsafe. That’s a great idea.

Now as for lockouts (as opposed to low speed muting), I love that V1Driver’s lockouts (like YaV1 and JBV1) take into account unique signals individually rather than lumping together all signals in a certain location and frequency range. IMHO this is one of the best things you could do to help minimize the risk of a legit signal being locked out.

I know there’s a lot of additional techniques and would love to see some discussion on that topic too, but yeah. :)

Whats really cool is that that post prompted an almost immediate fix! The mentioned scenario isnt very common though. But as you mentioned, failsafe's are important for CM tools for sure.

I agree, he addresses them promptly as they come up.
