Not trying to jack this thread, as Im actually finally interested in this, but wouldnt putting this monster under the mirror show everyone behind you that you have a detector? Also, wouldnt it create a viewing blind spot? What is it about a blendmount people like better than the suction cups being able to hide the detector higher up on the windshield?

I’ve run blendmount on my R3 as I like the placement better. I assume you live in a banned state with the concern about your detector being visible.. I for one am not in any banned states so I prefer my detector to be tight and center under the rvm. Not to mention the R7’s rear horn needs a clear unobstructed view out the back of the vehicle so that placement would be ideal for rear performance. Plus.. nobody can see in my vehicle through my tint anyway

Nope, not a banned state, I just dont need people on my butt pacing me so they can see if my radar detector goes off.

They’d have to have some damn good eyes to see that lol. Idk my tint takes care of that. Plus if anyone wants to pace me I create distance and show them why I’m a RDF member haha

Maybe Im overthinking it, I have 20% tint on my windows too. What about blocking vision under the mirror down the road?

I like the placement under my rearview mirror and it doesn’t block my vision to the point where it annoys me. My favorite thing is the pad that’s part of the spring clip that rests on top of the detector preventing any bouncing up and down as well as eliminating vibrations. The screen is much easier to read when the detector isn’t vibrating. Let them pace, the closer they get, the slower I go, then they can speed around me right into a speed trap

Now, if Blend would make this where it has hardware from their sticky suction cup mount, I could mount M1 dash cam right next to the R7. Combo with same wiring. Easy for those of us that have not invested in Black View or like systems yet.
