Unless you factory reset a couple of times a month the custom sweeps go stale. A fresh reset and it is bonkers sensitive on Ka.
Nonsense. I haven't done a reset for over a year. Nothing has changed.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think JBV1 is pushing custom sweeps automatically / based on location, but I could be wrong / I haven't seen a setting like that in the app.
Custom sweeps are just part of the config. I don’t think you can do stuff like enable/disable X-band without switching configuration profiles (which include custom sweeps, regardless of whether the sweeps themselves are any different), but I’m not positive. Maybe @johnboy00 will be willing to clarify for certain, since it’s its excellent app that adds this capability, and he can speak to the mechanisms used achieve it.

I'm responding to this:

More specifically "JBV1 with location based profiles continually pushing new configs to the V1". I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think JBV1 is pushing custom sweeps automatically / based on location, but I could be wrong / I haven't seen a setting like that in the app.

EDIT: Updated wording.
I don't think auto profiles are pushed that often for most people unless you regularly travel between different jurisdictions.

We should probably do this. ;)

EDIT: Side note, are there any good video overviews of the complete JBV1 app, for those of us that are Dyslexic? I've searched youtube, but only find short clips that show single parts of the app.

Yes, JBV1 (and YaV1 and V1Driver) are available in the Google Play store:

All are available for Android, only V1Driver is available for iOS:

It will if you configure it to do so. See (Auto) Profile Overrides. If a profile is configured to push sweeps, the sweeps get pushed when the profile is pushed.

You won't know until you try....
I used to with YaV1, never noticed a difference then either. I should add, with both V1's.
You may have a problem with the phone, dongle, V1 not speaking the same language.
I'd try an uninstall/reinstall and start again.

Thanks. My mother just upgraded her phone so now I’ve got her old Samsung galaxy. I installed YAV1 last night and didn’t see JBV1 but I didn’t spend a lot of time looking for it. The only thing I need now is a V1 :) i use an iPhone but I like to play podcasts and listen to music through Bluetooth so I don’t know if I want an app interrupting that. I guess there’s a way to turn the audio interruptions off on those apps- and just do visual. I’ve got the Samsung galaxy so I’ve got options

You do. Let it. You can turn it off later, surely, if you decide otherwise.
Last quest- it looks like V1connection LE can be used with both iOS and Android? That would be cool to be able to use both phones with 1 piece of hardware

I've been running @VariableWave 's R7 for a few days and I'm blown away by it! I am also a V1 zombie and I love my V1 as good as any of you, but there is no way my V1 can compete with this R7! The range and off axis on the R7 is incredible! The arrows also work just as good as my V1. The only gripe I have with it is the screen could stand to be brighter, but I know they did this on purpose to fight screen burn out. Unlike a lot of people who make claims and don't back it up, we are testing this weekend and I'll put my V1 up against @VariableWave 's R7 on our radar/ laser course. Time permitting, we'll run them all several times against 34.7 and 35.5. I'm going to throw in a test against my "ghetto arrows" as well. My money is on my Redline/ R1 ghetto combo! We shall see! BTW, my V1 is no slouch, It gets 35.5 front and rear at 4 miles on our long distance on axis course!
Bring it on Brother! Cant wait for results!

We tested all of them about a month or so ago and the winner was my ghetto arrows believe it or not! My R1 in the front matched his R7 and my Redline in the back kicked his R7's @ss! My ole' V1 also kicked @ss until @VariableWave started moving the gun around and adding some off axis. Then my V1 got it's @ss handed to it! @VariableWave has the videos and is still working on them. I can't wait to see them myself!

Make sure you test the R7’s adjustable and intelligent auto lockouts, custom mute boxes, BSM snoozing, configuration profile saving and switching, listing of multiple alert frequencies and directions with strength, visor mount, accessibility of controls when mounted against the headliner, ease of volume changing, and the high quality hardwire included in the box for it.

Yeah, I dont doubt it! West Texas is flat and rolling plains. I ran V1 and RL with K off for a long time. Many times they were neck and neck! V1 did beat RL a few times on 35.5 believe it or not. RL would occasionally get that 5-8 second trouncing of V1. Got hit by Texas DPS with laser about 2.5 years ago. Both RL and V1 alerted! Assume it was a XL/XLR! I saw her before she saw me an dropped anchor! Redline original with updated filtering on K band would be a winner. Too bad Escort couldn't figure that one out! Cant fix stupid!

Let's see you do all that with my 3.872 V1 @Deacon ! I didn't compare the R7 to a new V1 with JBV1! But now that you mention it bring it on! This R7 will blow your V1 out of the water on ANY test course that you want to try it on! I didn't say a word about filtering or apps or anything else, just raw performance! I know that a new V1 with JBV1 is awesome and the only reason I don't have a new V1 all set up like that is because even my R1 kicks it's @ss in everything that matters to ME, notice I said ME! Range, off axis, and I/O pick up for miles is what I'm after! All the apps and K filtering you can throw at it can't do that!

Cool, let’s try it against my Falcon HR while buzzing past a grocery store with a big CVS with half a dozen door openers ;)

I know we like to get carried away around here, but “performance” covers a whole lot more than range. If extreme range is all you’re looking for, you don’t need to plunk down big bucks for an R7 for that. I’ll take the V1 ramp-up and apps any day in all but the most extreme conditions.

PS Unless I’m running fast in the country, I have my R3 set to Advanced Mode with Ka at 60% and K at 30% just to try to combat all the nuisance alerts. Right tool for the job!
