One of the members here stated that the person answering the phones at V1 said that "the price hasn't been set", leading some to theorize the price may be going up when V1s are offered for sale again.

Hypothetical scenario: let's say that tomorrow, the Valentine One website lists the V1 as back in stock and ready for shipping. And in this scenario, the "part shortage" theory was correct. The V1 for sale is the exact same version 3.8952 Valentine One unit that was being sold a couple of months ago. No upgrades, revisions (at least any that would affect the end-user), or improvements.

How much would you be willing to pay for a brand-new version 3.8952 Valentine One unit with a Bluetooth dongle?

Please keep it civil and no bashing. The purpose of this thread isn't meant to debate whether the V1 is better or worse than any other countermeasure.

I would pay up to $600 for a unit with the range and filtering of a R7 with no second device needed to assist it to that level. If they can reach a higher level of filtering with the use of a second device while maintaining a R7 standard filtering as a single I would consider it a bonus. Other then this scenario I wouldn’t buy a V1.

Edit: @Raf1919 below made me think. It would also need a data port with free updates for me to even consider buying one.

Let's not do this market study for them ;). We would be validating a need for them to raise the price if they peruse it(well, if people sign up to pay). Teehee

I completely agree I’d pay $600 for that. But no matter what I’ll buy the new one $450

There is no news to prove that a new V1 will appear, and this kind of voting has no meaning.

Current V1 was priced at $399 not $450.

Edit: Missed the BT module part. $450 is accurate when taking that into account.

Did you read what I posted? I said nothing about a new V1. In fact, the scenario was exactly the opposite.
Current V1 was priced at $399 not $450.
The scenario was a new V1 plus a Bluetooth dongle. The dongle costs $50. Hence, $450.

Can you define pay?
Do you mean cheap enough to throw cash at VR and buy three?
Or expensive enough to grumble a little and justify it by saying you really need it?
Or saying it's more expensive than an R7 but twice the detector?

I plan on using their upgrade service for my @2001 model. Hopefully that price isn't much more than what it was 3 months ago. I think they offered $120 off the price of a new V1 for my old V1, but could be wrong.

What would you do if they eliminated the upgrade program?

Since I have a v 3.8952, I would have no interest in getting one. Now, if they made some improvements and had a new version, I guess it would depend on what has changed.
I would be happy with range within 80% of my R3s. Sorry, the R7s I tested were less range than my R3s so that's the marker. In my mind the modifiable settings of the V1 account for the other 20% in range.

Although I love my 3.872 V1, unless or until V1 comes out with "the new V1" with range and off axis at least as good as my R1 and a frequency display in a stand alone unit, I'm not interested. If they do build one however. I'll drive to Ohio and wait in line "black friday" style to get mine!

That's an interesting comment and seems against current " Uniden wisdom".
How did you test them?
