Hi, all.
I haven't been active in the forum lately, so decided to post couple of videos. Nothing impressive, but just wanted to share.

So the first one is 34.7, but not sure if it was C/O or I/O. There were 2 LEOs back to back (oncoming, around the bend and slight uphill for them). The second LEO was actually parked on the shoulder, and stared rolling right after the first one passed by him/her - this is not visible on the video, but I definitely saw the dark colored SUV joining the traffic after the white one passed by. So not sure which one had the radar on either:

The second video was a C/O K-band detection, from about half a mile, oncoming on a divided traffic highway. I was moving at 75mph on 65PSL, so I had time to slow down to about 70 when I had visual. XK filter = 3. I have FDSr ON, so after the first few seconds, I knew I'd better slow down, because if it was a BSM it would have identified it by them. I am still not satified with the range though:

No problem. I enjoy posting my encounters here and getting feedback from you guys.
Keep on posting!! I enjoy seeing your videos. I have a solid 34.7 C/O dash cam video from my CR97 this week from a state trooper that I plan on posting at some point this weekend. I am back to changing my settings, lol. I haven’t had a lot of radar encounters lately, but I have been running TFSR off more lately especially on the highway/interstate to try to boost the warning range. I have to bump the filters up a bit (especially K) to keep the false alarms in check. On the video that I am planning on posting this weekend, I had FDSR/r off, TFSR off, X/K filter at 5 (I don’t like running it that high as I occasionally see some county sheriffs running K-band on the interstate), and Ka filter at 2 (primarily for BSM filtering with the CR97 K/Ka issue). I also have a new Jeep Compass with BSM on video causing a generic Ka band warning on my CR97 from that day.

Looking forward to see your video!
Most of my commute to work and back is rural area (I only spend about 5-6 minutes on a major highway, the rest is two-way traffic on two-lane back roads), and that is the only reason I run FDSr ON. Like you, I haven't got many encounters lately, but the ones I have had in the last month or so have been about 50-50 between K-band and Ka (34.7 and 35.5). I have Ka Filter to 1, but I may get it up to 2 for the BSM falses, which I still get plenty of. I don't even want to try TFSR ON, because it makes it way too slow on reactivity.
The thing I hate the most (after K/Ka mix) is the fact that if I have currently BSM detection (FDSr is ON and showing changing ####), and I get a real alert - most of the time that alert stays muted as well, and if I do not keep an eye on the display, I wouldn't even know it! In addition, in such cases the ID is off - like I see 34.9 or 34.3., or 34.0 instead of 34.7! And that really makes me mad. Starting to lose faith in this unit. Whistler does not seem to care, and one firmware update for 8+ months since production is a joke. The R7 just got another update - that is being proactive and making it even better. In all honesty, I am looking into getting one in the near future...

I wish that Whistler would have another firmware update too, but when I had my Escort iX for about two years, the folks at Escort only had one very minor firmware update for that unit. I really don’t expect Whistler to do too many firmware updates for the CR97 (unfortunately). You thinking about getting a R7? Uniden is good about doing fairly frequent firmware updates. I really love my R3, and I have thought about the R7, but I am waiting too see what is coming out from Radenso and from Valentine Research when the V1 is back in stock before I purchase a R7.
