So i was driving around the other day, pondering. What if you had the ability to have each sensitivity setting be individually programmable? Full feature sets. Not just things like band sensitivity.

For example if I wanted to run, lets say, Advanced mode with X band 30%, K at 60%, K wide, Ka narrow, K filter, TSR on, . But then have the ability to switch to Highway and have everything wide open. Or City with X and K off. And not have to go back in and change the core settings each time.

I get that maybe memory is a limiting factor. I suppose things like tones and colors dont need to be changed between sensitivies. But could maybe just Advanced be left uninhibited so that those of us that like to constantly play around with settings set them all to our liking? Or per situation?

I think it would be handy to be able to tweak each setting to fit your needs/wants/curiosities.

good ideas.

I personally would like the detector to auto switch from city to highway based on speed, but I am sure a patent is already out for it

The Escorts in Auto mode and the Radenso’s in AutoCity mode does this.

The Escorts start lowering the filtering around 50 mph.

The Radenso’s let you choose where it jumps from city mode and filters to highway mode.

My Beltronics Pro GX65 does this in AutoScan and AutoScanNoX mode. Built-in GPS chip knows how fast you are going and adjusts sensitivity at 50 mph to Highway mode, City mode below 50 mph. This should be standard on all GPS based radar detectors. Hope Uniden is listening.

Assuming one has a GPS unit, isn't that pretty much what QR does? Both my Rs are dead quiet in the city because I have QR set to 50mph.

Got Jeep,
I had not seen that. Its close to what i was thinking. Especially post 46. But " profiles " on top of the standard themes seems like it would require that much more memory.
