Is there anyone on the forum experience with adding performance mods to the 5.7 Hemi? I have a 2015 300c with the 5.7 Hemi that I plan on doing the 392 intake swap and adding headers ect. I’m debating between shorty and long tubes headers at the current moment. Any suggestions? I plan on doing it myself.

Start with a Tuner and a custom tune after the mods.
You may not have room for long tubes, so go shorties. Anything’s better than stock.
Hi-flow cats
Better catback exhaust. If you hate drone, consider Corsa.
Larger Throttle body . Porter and polished. 85mm without headers or short tubes. 87mm for long tubes and a great performance tune

Find a better intake. Do buy into the CAI crap. Mostly marketing. Look into Vararam or something along those lines.

That should get you started.

Yea, I currently have flowmaster super 40s with resonater delete which sounds awesome. I plan on doing the scatpack 6.4 intake manifold swap which will net around 20hp at the wheels. Supposedly it’s best option for the 5.7 at the current moment.

Ive been flowing r/t life on YouTube. Awesome channel! Pushing 420ish hp at the wheels with a n/a 5.7 is pretty impressive.

If you haven't already, get rid of that 2.62 granny stock axle ratio and install the 3.09! That will make a significant difference in your bottom end acceleration. It won't void your warranty either if you are still within the warranty coverage. You already have the eight speed which is a good thing, otherwise I would have recommended the 3.92 ratio.

I was looking into that the other day. Would I be better off putting that money toward a com cam?

I have a 2013 R/T Plus with 2.65 gears and love it. I had it HPTuners tuned on a Dyno.
Three of the most lied about things on the planet are MPG, Horse Power, and man size.

The auto accessory market is lousy with false claims. Headers? more noise, places to leak, minimal if any gain, it may even fall on its face HP wise.
CAI, most are actually hot air intakes. Cat Back exhaust, again minimal and if you choose the wrong one you will get a nice cabin resonance or drone.

Exposing my age I am from the muscle car era and still an avid performance freak.

Now the above said. I do have a Corsa catback on both my rides. I love the sound and cabin peace. I know full well if any performance gain is there is minimal for the money paid.
I put K&N drop in filters in all my rides for the convenience.
My dyno operator had me install a 180°F t-stat.

HP & TQ gains after the dyno tune sessions are 10/10. MOPAR does not leave a lot of hidden HP on the table. What a tuner does is other things that will make you think more was gained. Throttle response, shift RPM points, firmness and quickness. It came out a different car more fun to drive without over doing it.

I added sport mode and its a nice layer on top of the tune. I rarely use it though.

You can learn alot about add-on BS from a Dyno operator, they have seen it all if in business for an amount of time. Go interview a dyno tune shop operator.

My Truck Blog The Airaid CAI gained 5HP for the money paid. Just saying. Couldn't return it.

I’m still bone stock at the current moment with an unlocked pcm and diablo tuner on the way. I’m getting a custom tune from hemifevertuning. I’m going to wait until after I add some mods before getting a dyno time.

If I were going to do anything else to mine it would be a procharger with 6psi boost. A stock Hemi internals are not forged.
Once you have forced induction nothing else matters.
They have a bypass to keep you running like stock when just cruising around.

No experience with cam upgrades here. My Scat Pack is stock but a torque monster with the 3.09 and the 8 speed. I agree the sport mode is a good thing. I turn it on almost instinctively lol unless the roads are wet. I have track mode too which is an even more aggressive shift pattern.

I wish they had kept the 6.4 option for the 300 class with the 8 speed like the charger. The 8 speed is the only reason I didn’t go with the 2014 300srt va 15 300c.

Ironically, they do still sell the 300 SRT8 in Australia!

Sean Powell of Hemifever did both my truck and car. One of my tuners came from him as well.

If only there were hard buttons for instant access to Sport and Track modes. You can replace the right-side steering wheel buttons with the ones from a Charger Pursuit, and then use a Tazer to map the Aux 1/2/3 buttons to drive modes, but I'm not sure I want to buy a Tazer just for that (I think it must remain plugged in, too).

On my 2015 Scat Pack, I had instant access to Sport mode with a hard button. On my 2019, they added more drive modes (including Track) so when you hit the drive mode button Custom mode is enabled, which you can configure similar to Sport mode. Congrats on the new Scat Pack BTW.

My 300c came with sport mode. I can’t get any type of traction from a stop with it on though. Plus my exhaust gets loud as hell.
Do you have launch control? I am not familiar with all the 300C options.

Nah, I don’t have any of the performance pages like the srt/scatpack models. It just come standard with sport mode and paddle shifters. I know I can get them with the tazer mod, but I don’t think it’s worth the money.

If headers cost as much as they do for a HC save your money. And coming from someone who had always had big NA builds, skip it all and just do boost. Someone suggested a Procharger or maybe a single turbo is an option as well.

But if you are hellbent on staying NA AVOID COMP CAMS. I personally have had one fail and there are many others that have as well. Just google comp cam failure.

Use Cam Motion if you do a cam. Superior metal and finishing. And as someone else suggested swap the rear end out.

Sell it and buy a used HC.

You can buy nice low mile ones on the 40’s now.
