I already have a fuse tap that I use to power my dash cam. Is there any reason why I shouldn't cut and solder both dash cam and TMG to the same tap? If ok, what size fuse would be sufficient?

Of course. You haven't said which cam, but a 5A fuse would be more than sufficient. You probably could get away with 2A if you wanted to.

Not sure cut and solder is truly necessary, but it shouldn't hurt to do. I'd just use a Posi-Tap:

So I could tap into the hot wire coming from the fuse tap, and have 2 different leads (one from TMG, one from A129 duo)? You think the 16 gauge would suffice?

Yep. 100%. As long as you have a good tap (or solder joint apparently), and a good ground, you're good to go.

@Jag42 should have the official full-tilt power draw specs, but both the dashcam and the TMG system are relatively low-draw devices. See the post from @System above. Gauge and amperage shouldn't be an issue, and you've only got 2 devices. Hell, look at @Vortex setup in his Miata!

Yep, it's generally not advisable since you want each circuit to have its own fuse. Because too big of a fuse means more risk but a smaller fuse means the total amperage going to both units would blow it. If you want to be extra safe, TMG already has it's own fuse so use that for TMG plus another fuse for the dash cam circuit then the main fuse for both if you like. So 3a to each then 7.5A on the Add a fuse if you don't want an extra add a fuse but want the most protection.

(PSST: I ran my RD, TMG, interior lighting, and additional cigarette lighters all to my cigarette lighter circuit with no issues (I blew the 30a fuse once and I soldered it back together since BMW has open fuse wires in E36) until the crash so pick your poison ;)

I use the cigarette lighter fuse to supply my devices (hardwired fuses) and I use dashcam (Viofo A199s), RD (various models but not simultaneously) and charger for my cell phone without a problem. Only thing to mention is that the charger provides only 0.5A (old Nokia USB model).

Yah, I pull 15w for my phone (3A @5v). 0.5A @5v is 2.5w which is absolutely nothing.
