I don’t use Waze for turn by turn Nav so it didn’t even occur to me that there are alternate voices available.
The Wife told me she had DJ Khaled on hers so I tried it out. Mildly amusing. It’s not just the voice, but also adds different wording to the alerts.
I recently tried out Cookie Monster. The alerts don’t get your attention like the standard “Police reported ahead” especially with the windows down or music playing so I wouldn’t recommend those voices with your high speed runs. It can add some interest to your drive with friend and family though.
Have a good weekend Folks !

I'm a huge Waze user (because, reasons) but I've not found the voices to be very helpful in the past; kind of like what you've said about Cookie monster not getting your attention.
I use the standard voice for alerts only and I'd be reluctant to try another voice pack now. (I don't like clutter in apps)

All of the cutesy stuff in Waze is kind of why I don't love it even though I use it extensively. I turned off what I could long ago.

Also, I wish it would show lane info at exits like many GPSs do.

But, for those that want the cute stuff, it's nice that it's an option and some might definitely enjoy it more with the fun options. :)

Lol

I just started using DJ last week. Freaking hilarious. I love it. “The key is to stay focus” he doesn’t even say focused just focus. Lol

I don't know if they still have it, but they used to have a Colonel Sanders voice. Waze/It would go nuts when you drove by a KFC.

“The voiceover includes Colonel-isms such as ‘Pothole on the road ahead. I'd fill it with gravy,’” says a KFC press release—a line you’ll hopefully still be chuckling over after that pothole causes you to blow a tire. But the Colonel isn’t just there for gravy one-liners. He “will also guide Wazers to KFC restaurants that appear along their route”

I remember when TomTom used to do voices like John Cleese and Mr. T and such. I always thought they were cool, except you lose text to speech where it actually says the name of the road or the exit to take or whatever.

I just found out today that the wife switched her Waze to Cookie Monster and it’s pretty funny. “Police reported ahead! Do you see them? Do they want cookie?”

If you have a rooted phone you can make your own voices and add them :). I had mine say everything from twinkle party ahead (what my kids called the roadside disco) to pigs ahead. Everytime it updates it wipes them out though.

Now, you have the option to record our own voice. No rooted phone necessary.

I only wish you could choose how often it gave you direction information. It seems in a short drive that you get -

In 6mi turn right, in 1mi turn right, in 500 feet turn right, turn right ahead, turn right, continue straight for 5 miles, in 5 miles turn left, and so on. Half the time I'm yelling at Waze to shut the heck up.

My wife uses some British guy's voice which always kind of surprises me. I guess it is the only man's voice that she will follow directions from while she is driving because she knows not to listen to me.

Mr. T was awesome. So was Liam Neeson.
“Red light camera ahead. Beware of the eye in the sky.”

If you see a strange white/green/purple icon on the Waze screen, that's Buzz Light-year.
