I own (didn't know until now it is) a US version of RX65. Bought 12 years ago (MY 2007) and works perfectly with no false alarms at all.
Last days bought another RX65, but this time Asia version (MY 2010), for my other car.
This last one is piece of sh**. False alarms permanently in the city and sometimes even outside the city.
Both detectors have the same settings made, all bands off, except K band left ON.
Tried both Highway and City modes, no difference in false alarms. They are all there.
Could it be a defective unit or this is the normal behaviour of Asian version?

I have not seen the Beltronix tested here, so I have not seen anything about that. There are some pretty knowledgeable people here though so someone may be able to chime in with something.

Pretty normal behavior for the international version. Almost no filtering on those units.

It's very bad i find out only now...
If i get right the US version is the "alpha" detector and te internationals are some cheap versions?
In Europe they sustain the US version must be avoided. But it's obvious it is wrong.

When your unit powers up, what does it say?

RX65i, RX65a, RX65ru, RX65?

have you faced real K band with your quiet unit? It's always possible that the unit thats quiet actually has an issue with it's Kband detection and therefor is very quiet to falses but also to real threats on Kband. there is also an M4 and S7 horn design on these which changes the sensitivity a bunch so perhaps thats part of the difference. Generally the RX65 is chatty on Kband as it's an older unit with no real BSM filtering, the fact that one unit doesn't false much sounds out of place...

RX65a.

I am using the US version (quieter) for 12 years and he saved me from a lot of radars. So it does the job very well.
Both are with M4 antennas.

So any international detectors usually have less filtering so they can detect more difficult radar guns. They could also have expanded range in k band... And of course KU support (ewww Cobra)

Both US and Asia versions do have Ku band.
But RX65a version believe me, is a pain in the ass. Completely useless in the city, and sometimes also outside the city. With so many false alarms in K band, you don't know when it's a real radar or not.
As long as the US version sees all the radars in my country, for me is enough.

I am a bit offtopic, but what do you know about Escort 9500ix? Is it quiet like the US version of RX65?

Most of the older versions of detectors will be quite noisy in the city. Even some of the newer ones are! But some have specific settings to help quieten them down.

So i must search a specific version of this model? Or how do i see which is the right one?
I see there are some "international" versions, too.
