I had a feeling 2020 was going to be a tough year for a while now. Check this out too! I didn't think Australia would be like China.

It doesn't apply in NZ. Nelson is a small town, but when we first arrived it was crawling with revenue collectors. Even Dog units had Stalkers in their utes.
I agree with you, but there just isn't as many out there in the country compared to a capital city. Sure, they will still have all the crime fighting equipment, but there won't be 5000 of them roaming around in a town with a population of say 4000 people. Australia is pretty big, some places I drive I might see 1 or 2 farm houses over a 200km stretch of road. Quite a waste of resources to sit a cop out there for a day when he might be lucky to see a handful of cars over a 12hr period. That's said, the day you think there is no cops out there, you might find it's the odd day they actually put a police presence in place to remind you. Still no reason to let your guard down. Alcohol testing alone can turn up anywhere.
This will make you laugh! 2 years ago I was in a country town chatting to a local who said the cops had been busting women for leaving their handbags on the passenger seat while driving. What was the charge you wonder.... Can you believe they fined them for an unsecured load! Must have been a slow day in a small town.

Handbags on a car seat? I can't think of a charge that would fit. Insecure load wouldn't fly over here.

Acting like the seatbelt should have been strapped over it or something or it should be locked away in the boot. Anything to make a $. That's some true crime fighting right there isn't it!?

The AA is pushing for the Swedish model. I agreed completely, then realised they were talking about speed cameras, not hot blonds doing traffic control.
However, I'm in favour of well signposted cameras even if there are a lot more.
I'm also in favour of income indexed fines. I'm a pensioner.

Guess you can just not pay it and opt for community service. The fine increases until you get it through court though, and state you can't pay it due to hardship or whatever good excuse fits and you're still willing to do the equivalent to pay it.
