You don't have to run waze in the background.I guess I'm late to the party on this compact app. Just downloaded this evening.
Does Waze need to be running in the background for this to work?
Are there multiple server choices for the "Server hostname" or just a single choice that begins with W ? I am in the USA.
Thanks to all for more cool stuff
That is the "Mute All" button. It will mute all alerts, when multiple are displayed and alerting. It is useful when sources are close to each other, instead of tapping on each alert to mute it individually. If no alerts are displayed and actually alerting, this button does not do anything. With the Highway Radar app, as soon as I press "START MONITORING", the box at the lower left corner turns into a red box with a speaker in it and an X, sort of like a mute function. What is that? Nothing seems to happen when I press it.
I'm getting hardly any volume from the app at all. Volume is there, just very low.
I drove with this app + Google Maps today. I think this combo effectively doubles my data consumption rate, which means I probably won't be able to use it since I have a 1GB monthly limit. Will probably just stick with Waze. It doesn't chew thru much data on its own.
This version is focused on map improvements — the Map display mode is no longer experimental starting from v1.8.
