thank you, we've been asking for something like this for months, jbv1 is great but locked down to the v1 and the v1 is off the market for now. I'll spread the word to my rv transporter group about this as we are getting popped alot by troopers.

Rather than just "auto start scanning," can we also have "auto stop scanning" when we close the app? I don't know if it is related, but I didn't realize I needed to stop scanning and my battery was down way further than usual during the day. I opened it again to realize it was apparently still scanning even though closed? Or was it not scanning while closed, but opened with scanning already enabled because I closed it that way (and the battery usage was something else)?

Thanks for your time and efforts!

I think you have to press the "Stop Scanning" button or else the app runs in the background.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, you can have an automation app kill this app.
The biggest difficulty here is that there really isn't anything that this app is tied to to trigger it's activation and de-activation.
An automation app can provide the triggers between say a Bluetooth connection to a vehicle and this app.
Another option is to have this app activate 1 mile from your home location or when your home WiFi disconnects.
I used to do a lot of these types of things with YaV1 a couple of years ago. I don't need to anymore.

Attached is an example script that might work. Haven't tested it but it gives you an idea. :)

What is the reasoning behind having to enter www.waze.com in manually? Is it completely terms of service related so the app doesn't get pulled from the app store or something?

If so, what is your main concern with detection which would result in that? Is it from Google detecting which site you're pulling data from through a network connection packet sniffer and noticing it's coming from Waze and thus they pull it from the store?

Because realistically the data could come from anywhere so they wouldn't really have a legitimate reason to pull it from the store unless they had proof it was contacting the Waze servers.

If that's your concern I could easily set you up a reverse proxy and you could simply fill in the reverse proxy address into your app automatically and technically the user phone would never contact the Waze server. Thus masking it from the above detection method.

So I tried this app with a few aircraft traps this AM and it does pretty well. I know you are pulling data from a couple places for the aircraft alerts... Can you also pull aircraft data from OpenSky Network as well? I noticed that ADSB exch and open sky they both seem to have different coverage, Open sky was picking up some aircraft better than ADSB exchange in some spots and other spots ADSB exchange was seeing the aircraft and open sky was not... (all depends what local receivers are feeding to what sites) FR24 is filtered and a few aircraft that they use in FL are blocked so they wont show up on FR24.

Should be easy, will add once I'm back (in the middle of July)

+1, automation apps are better suited for things like that one

Not yet. Added speed/red light cameras alerts to the poll

It is easy, there is a PayPal link in the top message

Yes, the only concern is ToS. Besides pulling from the store I'm also trying to avoid any other consequences (I've heard about civil suites filed for ToS violation). So I only implement protocol support and it is the user's decision what service supporting this protocol to use.
Anyway, if you set up a reverse proxy I'll be happy to add it as a default server.
I haven't set up my since it can be easily banned by IP by Waze.

Yes, this is possible. Also taking into account yesterday's ADSBx downtime due to a data center outage, I will prioritize this without adding to a poll.

Wanted to get feedback on the iOS design before writing code. Kept it close to Android version but added some styling changes of my own of my vision for the UI/UX (user interface/user experience). Any feedback helps up front. Would be great to know what iOS devices and version everyone is on too to have a general idea (can PM me as to not hijack this thread).

I’d suggest starting a new thread for this to avoid hijacking this one but keeping the process visible to those of us who’d love to try it out.

I’m not sure if those are absolute/as-the-crow-flies values or if it’s basing it on routing (2.2 miles ahead on your route vs 2.2 miles ahead that could be on some other highway or road), but otherwise the direction and nature of the threat is very clear as a glance.

I’m running an iPhone 8 Plus and will probably end up moving to the iPhone XS Max or whatever the next version is that comes out.

Anybody else having issues connecting for aircraft data this AM? I keep getting connection errors for the aircraft side... the police alerts are working. I have both the regular and the secondary aircraft server setup... I tired removing the secondary and still getting connection error. it was working over the weekend.

Same problem here in DFW.
