I’m having some difficulty with Time Mute in JBV1 and wanted to see if someone may know what’s going on. I set time mute at 5 seconds and selected a muted volume of 30%. (Menu>Settings>Auto-Mute Control>Auto-Muted Alert Volume>30%.) Now, when I get an alert it sounds for 5 seconds as desired, but then totally mutes to zero volume instead of going to 30% of the phone volume. Has anyone else encountered this type of issue?

The hardware I’m using is V1 version 3.8945, LE dongle, all alerts/sounds through a Samsung S7 running Android 8.0.0. Knob and muting lever on the V1 are turned down completely. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Somewhere in cyberspace.
My phone doesn't seem to recognize JBV1 mute values except for "0". Anything else and it doesn't mute the alert at all, or only a little. Maybe it has something to do with which audio stream JBV1 and/or your phone is using to play the alert sounds. Dunno!?!?

Thanks for the response. My vehicle doesn't have Bluetooth, and doesn't know what streaming is, so at least there's no complication with audio coming over the radio speakers in the car. It's somewhat amusing that you're having too little muting and I'm having too much.

Mute volume is relative to the current stream volume, not alert volume. If alert volume is set to 50% and mute volume is set to 30%, you won't notice much difference. If you set alert volume to 100% and mute volume to 10%, there will be a big difference.

Thanks. In my case I'm getting no volume at all after the time mute kicks in. I have alert volume at 50% (loud enough with my phone) and started with muted volume at 10%. After hearing nothing after the 5 second time mute, I increased to 30% and then even 50%. There's just no sound after time mutes begins.

@johnboy00,
I wanted to let you know that my time-mute issue appears to be solved since updating to 1.5.10. Previously, when time mute kicked in the volume was going to zero no matter where I had the app mute volume set. Now the volume lowers to the set point as desired. Thanks once again.

I'm glad it's working for you now.
