I just installed ALP Connect and a Bluetooth module today.

I reinstalled the app after many settings wouldn't work right etc. and now think I have that fixed however one issue remains...

When connected with Bluetooth, alerts are an 'ok' volume, the detailed alert identifying the gun is very quiet and the alert volume dips a little then grows to what I would normally get out of my HiFi module/speaker configuration.

I've adjusted Android volume levels to max (alarm, media etc) and tried both mix and pause/duck in the app settings.

Am I missing something or is this what the normal experience is via bluetooth? Didn't want to bother Tom/BRD just yet if this is an easy fix but hadn't seen anything in my forum searches.

Edit: It seems to not have a correlation with any specific gun. All 3 of mine cause it to react in the same manner.

Also, tested both Samsung Note 9 and LG G6, this issue seems to only present on the Note and only when the Audio Route is set to all. If I default it, it's fine at least in preliminary testing so I can't push it over car audio reliably. The G6 works fine no matter what.

See if this info helps, scroll down to bluetooth section.

When Bluetooth is connected, audio will not go through HiFi.

I am very familiar with the fact audio won't come there at the same time.

The issues I am having, when audio route is set to all, the alerts that come through Bluetooth on my phone (note 9) or my car's speakers when my phone is connected as a Bluetooth source while streaming Spotify etc... The audio is extremely varied. I will rate it on a 1-10 volume scale - initial siren is like a 6, gun ID and following alert/siren is about a 3, then it slowly ramps to a 10. I change the audio route to default (phone speaker only) and it's dead solid steady.

Using my LG G6 (work phone, don't carry it on the weekends....) it works normally either way.

No. Audio doesn't come out of the Hifi speaker. I never expected it to while Bluetooth is connected.

Vortex has a great site, especially for new folks - but in this case nothing here or in any of the help documents have made a difference.

-----------

Additionally, if I open the app even while not connected and select demo, the audio performs in the exact same manner. I think it may be a bug in relation to Samsung and ALP Connect.

Ahhh ok, I misunderstood your question.
@BestRadarDetectors Should be able to answer this.
I know there are several audio controls both in the profiles, as well as the actual App, perhaps play around with them until BRD gets back to us.
Not an option for everyone, but I run a dedicated phone for my ALP and route all audio alerts through it.

I have used a Samsung A5 and now have a Samsung J3 with ALP Connect, and have no volume issues. On the website configuration page, I have volume controls set to Master, and have never tried any other setting. Have you checked out that configuration setting, not just the app settings?

Yes I did however even without the Alp connected and using the app demo button the problem exists independently. I'm going to see if I can capture a video and post it here. Once I do you'll find it attached to this specific post.

Edit: Attached video link

It's most notable in the voice alerts, the first two alerts are examples of normal sound, then I change the settings and hit it 4 more times.

You'll have to excuse the dusty dirty car.. M
