co worker clocked 86 in a 70 on I-75S. So how can she mitigate the damage. It happened 2.5 hours away from Atlanta on the way to Florida. Ill get more details and a copy of the ticket later.

Suddenly she doesnt think my radar detector is weird.

@85 or above on a highway is super speeder.
Good to know, and sorry to hear about your coworker. Not sure what "super speeder" gets you, but a lawyer is probably your best bet at this point.

Added 200 dollar fine to the ticket + fee cost and at that speed what estimates to be around 27% increase on insurance

Actually being clocked at 75 on any two lane road or 85 on any Georgia Highway (divided highway, Interstate, 4 lane road)! Fellow shooter was clocked on a two lane section of 411 with a 65MPH PSL but was doing 77 and received a Super Speeder ticket because that section was two lanes.

That GA superspeeder law is hilarious to us Texans. It wasn't a law yet when I lived in Atlanta.

Best thing for your coworker to do is fight it. Whether in person or a lawyer or both. All she needs is 2 mph and its no longer super speeder and no points (at least in Georgia, don't know how it transfers to Florida). They probably won't lower the fine but you won't have to pay the $200 to the state (the city definitely wants your money ;)).

You'd a thought that the trooper would have dropped it by 2 mph just to be nice... Guess he don't give a shit.

No, he knows its more money for the city if its in the 15-19 mph over bracket. The maximum fine for 14 over is something like $150. So $150 vs $200+ whatever the city tacks on.

Yeah but that's just heartless... And almost within the margin of error.

I know in GA it strips your chauffeurs/commercial license. Does it ever drop off?

In Georgia tell her to use Waze as well and jammers would not hurt, but at least waze since it is free.

F Georgia and their excessive speed enforcement.

I know people that have gotten nailed at 110 mph in Florida and it is just ( a very expensive) fine, many times not even points or driving school

Jesus. Your car would probably be impounded and you'd get the silver bracelet award here unless the LEO is in a very good mood (our reckless driving statute is INCREDIBLY subjective).

Here reckless driving is ... well up to the officer,120 mph ticket may get you yelled at but.. most of the times is just a ticket with court required appearance , most likely they will send you to an intensive drive school class (12 hour ) and a 500 dollar fine , if the judge is in a very bad mood .. but with a good lawyer they may even bring it down to careless driving and that is it.

One time I got yelled at by a female trooper for splitting lanes on stopped traffic , she even stopped traffic and made me throw my keys to her, she even took my helmet with her for some reason, came back with a careless driving , went to court and got it tossed , full dismissal because it is actually an illegal passing ticket, so wrong statue.. dismissed....

You can get 1 or two tickets a year and you will probably not see any points in your license, as a matter of fact it is common practice to take tickets to court where they will first send you to a pre-trial (one where the cop does not show up yet), the pre-trail officer usually offers no points , no school and a reduction of your fine in exhange of not fighting the ticket further.

MA is weird. There are no actual points. They'll suspend your license for 30 days with 3 speeding convictions in a 12 month period. 3 moving violations of any sort is required driving school.

Where they get you is insurance points - one speeding ticket on an otherwise clean record is a 17% bump, the next another 15%. Can add up fast.
