As most of you can see I live in columbus, Ga . The only radar used here is KA band 33.73 or so and was wanting to know the range . I have an R-7 and I am not impressed with range vs my V1. There is no mile plus pick up on this , maybe 500 yards. Thought about adding segment 1 to help?

If it is alerting at all, then the problem most likely isn't what segments you run. If fact, adding more unnecessary segments will hurt 'range' because the detector will now have to sample more bandwidth every scan cycle. I would try to do some informal testing next time you find a parked LEO running Ka band, or a K-band speed sign, or if you want to travel to Clemson, SC I'd be more then happy to let you test with my Ka 35.5 GHz radar to confirm something isn't wrong with your R7.

I've had weird encounters before that make you think your detector isn't functioning properly, but there are so many factors that go into detection range, it's hard to confirm without true testing.

In front of you but behind a Rabbit
GHP runs 35.5 and 34.7 Ka band in Columbus. Sounds like something is wrong with the R7. Even so at a minimum you should set segment scan to Segments 2, 5, 8. This will give fast scans of the main three Ka Sections. Have you updated to the latest Firmware?

If the Georgia Test Group can get your vetted before the weekend and you can drive up from Columbus, we would be glad to test your R7 with 34.7 and 35.5 Ka plus check your setting. I see you applied to the closed testing group, Forum Members must be Forum Vetted Immediate or Advanced Members for instant approval, Beginner Member Level must have good Forum activity, a decent true post count (not posting just to me making count), and be personally vetted before admission to the Closed Test Group.

I did buy from best buy with 3 year warranty, I know on my V1 it was running on the lower register. My sister in law has my old escort ix and I could change the configuration to get a better read. Expert mode

I’ve had no issues with any bands on my R7. If I remember correctly, the Max 360 does very well on 33.8.
