Whats a M1?
*Googled* - thats cool! When I get a dash cam this is what I want.

Best Buy has these in stock in-store all around me!
Hmmmmm, need to resist my impulses!!!! The design is perfect. Uniden should be making stuff like this for the R7, etc., and hopefully are. There's a huge aftermarket for this type of stuff and tons of money to be made so...???

can you mute the detector and does the two led work normal
?
thanks
I mute the detector using the button on the detector, so it doesn't make a difference.

So it doesn't.
Buzz-Kill.
Forget it.
Uniden needs to develop their own.

Just got the M1 today to try it out. I mainly want to see if it would work with the R7.And it does work and View attachment 119271everything powers up perfectly fine
Which mount are you using? The mount that came with your R7?

Thanks

I also have question on the mount, any issues 'attaching'? You think this will work with Bledmount coming out for R7?

I thought about the M1 but went with the Blackvue DR750-2. It has provision for cloud usage allowing for a true real time viewing giving it an alarm system allowing one to watch live video of their vehicle-I love mine. Its also true 4K giving a superior picture at a wider angle. They're on sale now-I believe for $349 for both front and rear camorras. Cost more but does more-I love the live viewing from anywhere you are, in the mall, store wherever. I bought mine from Blackboxmycar. They're in Canada but ship super fast.

Do you mean DR900S? DR750S is not 4K

I actually tried the DR900s but I had an aweful experience. It boot looped constantly, complained about every sd card I put in it, even the blackvue card, would record for 2 minutes and then just crash. I returned it and just went back to my M1. You wont be making any action cam videos with the M1 but for accident witnessing it works fine

Yes sorry I do mean 900. Mine has had no problems at all setup was easy first time. Sorry about your bad experience -it truly rocks for me. Also its what Vortex uses if I'm not mistaken -he recommended it. I believe that's why I went with them because of his review of the product though it was a brief one.

I had a post about how it works for me. Here is picture.

Standard Uniden Suction cup mount. The extended bolt provided by M1 kit work perfect.

The Uniden power cord in the car does not support enough power for both. So, I used Escort power cord. It has enough built in current design to run both just fine. Unfortunately, lose the mute button on the cigar plug.

Would hard wiring to mirror provide enough voltage?

Good question. You might have a point. I don’t know how much you can get from a mirror tap. Maybe some RDF folks have wired both RD and dash cam on one. My only observation: the R7 Uniden power cord would not power both devices. The heavier duty wiring, plug of the Escort cigar plug wiring does work fine. The cam and RD would try to power up, and could one at a time with the Uniden cord. Both, no. With Escort cord lose the mute and lockout button function of the R7 Uniden cord.

mine is through the mirror tap. Both radar and camera power up. So far nothing has somked or burned, no fuses popped either. My car is a 2018 camry XSE.
