While our Radenso head office is in downtown Cincy, I live in Independence KY and travel all over the state often.

Unfortunately, we use everything. Just in my small town, I see 33.8, 34.7, 35.5, K band, and truspeed S. We don't use dragoneye or Redflex yet, but Ohio has both if you ever travel there.

Long story short, you live near one of the toughest enforcement states in the USA (Ohio) and even KY itself is no slouch. Whichever brand you decide to go with, get the best - you'll need it.

The other thing to mention too is that our surrounding states kind of suck from an enforcement perspective as well....TN uses Dragoneye, Illinois uses Dragoneye, MRCT, and Redflex, and in Virginia you'll want a stealth unit (RD are illegal).

It cannot be overstated how different our threat environment is from some other coastal areas of the country where people can purchase based on just protecting against one or two threats - pretty much from Illinois everywhere to the eastern seaboard, you better buy a device that can protect against everything if you want it to last.

Correct, Dragoneye is laser.....very difficult and expensive to defend against unfortunately.

I also avoid Virginia like the plague - anywhere where driving 80mph is considered reckless I won't set foot in if I don't have to. According to VA, I commit a crime worthy of jail time every single day I commute.

Yes, DragonEye lidar. It's mainly the DragonCam variety in Tennessee. It isn't used near Knoxville or Gatlinburg. In those areas, you will see Stalker XLR, ProLaser 3/4 and Knoxville PD uses LTI Truspeed.

Tennessee Highway Patrol uses Stalker Ka band for their radar, local municipalities use a wide variety of K & Ka band.

Thanks for the info man I think its gonna be hard to program custom sweeps for the v1 that's what I'm currently leaning towards

The V1 is a solid choice. Don't sweat the sweeps too much, look on here, and the standard sweeps will cover you well. I'd look at the Radenso Pro M too, good range with great BSM filtering.

Kentucky is reported to use "segments" 1, 2, 4, 5, 8 for Ka. Here's my custom sweeps for KY.

Looking now at that top one, I'd drop it down from 33.708 to 33.675 to eliminate the overlay with the built in segment 2. No point in overlapping. :)
