I recently leased a 2019 BMW 7 series and wanted to get some minimum level of protection against lidar. I've been lurking for a while and know very well that ALPs are the way to go and im planning to go with a 6 head ALP unit for my 2013 M5, paired with the R7.

However, being a lease car, I wanted to have a fairly non-invasive setup on my 7series. So I decided on the ZW5s which will pair up with the escort 360c which I run in my daily driver. There is no DE where I am at ( San diego).

I got a quote from a shop quoting me 6 hours at $150/hour. I said screw that and decided to do it myself. It'll probably take me longer than 6 hours since there isn't much info online about taking this car apart and I'm a CPA and not an engineer.. However, its coming along.. more pics to follow next week when I finish my install. Just getting the bumper off took me about 3 hours..

Also. Kudos to Bossdad71 for answering my emails today (sunday).

I also plan on working on the ALP install on my m5 myself as well.. If there are any experienced members in San Diego who would like to assist me in the install and help me test, I'll buy you a few 9% craft beers and a steak dinner and u can join me with the install...

Thanks for documenting this. I'll be following along as I'm going to have to figure out where to route my cabling as well for my safety gear.

LOL. I was going to get started over the weekend but it occured to me I need to get the right sized power cable ordered for my new switch, + fitted battery harness, and then some OEM spec cable wrap. Hopefully will have it ordered this week and able to start after it arrives.

I did the same thing on my S550. Installed them a few months ago and have yet to encounter any laser. Super easy to install.
