Living near a Honda plant has been hell. Unfortunately 90% of my driving is rural highway so City mode isn't an option and the cops run K band. I bought my R3 when it was released and I've only had two real Ka his so far.

Unfortunately, I'm starting to see a lot of Mercedes punching through around 24.100GHz.
What police K frequencies are you seeing?

I run in advanced, K narrow with K at 70%; if Uniden will add the “Honda block” to the R 1s and 3s like they did with the R7, there will be a lot less complaining. I get a 24.198 or 24.199 false several times each day.

The R7 block is not a true fix but I’m willing to take the chance and I might even run K wide with it. I can’t speak for all, but Hondas are by far the biggest offenders here in central NC.

My R1 does such a good job handling the GM BSMs I tend to notice the Honda/Acura BSM more. I don't get a lot of them but they are annoying, especially if you get stuck behind one in traffic. I have yet to see a Mazd BSM being detected. If they do implement K block for the R1/R3 I will be trying it. As far as city mode, by R1 has better K band range in city mode than my LRD950 had in highway mode!

Turn on MRCD, then you'll see them from miles away. I feel like MRCD removes any type of filtering.

Could they do 2 firmware versions, one with mrcd and one without. Make it come from the factory with mrcd for the masses.

No need for 2 versions because you can turn MRCD off.. you could also use fwd 1.37, which doesn't have the option for .MRCD

I was thinking about freeing up room in the memory for other features, I should have been more clear.

@Brainstorm69, didn’t you run a test that shows city mode gives better Ka performance?

R3 custom mode K band at 40%.

It's pretty F-- annoying.

Just release the custom K block filter for the R3 already. WTF should I have to sacrifice my entire K band range because Uniden has not released a solution for the R3/R1 while it caters to R7?

50% Advanced, 1.37 TSF ON. Hondas punch through on the regular.

The R7 GM/Honda block is very effective, however, Jeep and Mazda have started spewing BSM at 24.120 to 24.160, smack dab in the middle of what we thought was "legit" LEO K band frequency. It's like playing Whack a Mole with these bleeping BSM systems. As always, K band came from Satan's anus.

Just last week I thought I was getting a BSM false, but it ended up being a legit LEO running 24.13x.. I think it was 24.138. Only reason I slowed down was because of a traffic light. then saw him as I crept up my lane.

If I had to face legit K on a regular or somewhat regular basis, I would get a Radenso Pro M that has great filtering with little to no range penalty. I face K maybe once a year- maybe. The current BSM falses on the R1 with all the filtering settings ON and K at 70% makes me ignore K alerts. Now I can run in CITY mode or crank K to 30% but that’s a range penalty.

Pic of the day. Enjoy :catstare:

Typical day behind a Honda CRV. I pick these dam[sic] things up hundreds of feet away. Please add the Honda block to the R1/3. @UnidenSupport thanks!

My Radenso Pro-SE only has problems with Mazda-3 and Mazda CX-5 pretty much. It is very quiet, and I live in the Raleigh, NC area where there is a ton of Acura's, BMW's, Mazda's, Porches, Mercedes and Jaguar's. I just purchased the PRO-M for me, because my wife wanted my radar detector and it is suppose to have better BSM and longer detection then the PRO-SE The shortest warnings I receive is on 33.80 and the longest 35.50. KA 35.50 in Michigan on flat land 3.1 miles when I'm visiting home.
If you want to see an R3 in action, I'm in between Chapel Hill, Durham, and RTP. My CX-3 with BSM doesn't set my R3 off at all, but I do pick up Acuras, the newest Mazdas, some Hondas, and some GMCs/Cadillacs. I do need the R3 range for when I'm in the mountains or traveling west on I-40. I run in Advanced Mode, not City or Highway.

That said, I would probably buy a Radenso unit for the quietness for any other family member who isn't going to be prepared to spot the Acura two cars up and one lane over vs. Chapel Hill police running K-band in the median.

Mine runs fine in highway mode. I get a few bsm here and there but it's pretty easy to tell if it's a false being you don't get to much of ramp up it usually doesn't go past 2 bars. The only time it gets annoying is when your right close to a Honda but that's easy to fix that, Just hit the gas!

Until you get stuck behind them on a 2-lane road with no passing zone. Happened to me yesterday behind a CX-5 for 10 miles. Detector kept unlatching and re-alerting, so pressing mute was futile.

Honestly, the only thing preventing me from getting an R3 right now is the filtering. I've never owned one personally, but I rode with someone once for two hours who had one. 1.37, K Filter ON, TSF On, Highway. It got annoying pretty quickly. Granted, you can knock it down with Advanced mode and I did not experience that firsthand, but New England still has a good amount of real K band, particularly in Massachusetts, so I really need all the range I can get to combat the terrain we have. I can deal with my DFR6's K Band noise, but the actual range can get a little dicey sometimes.
