I would step up to dfr9 to get the GPS lockouts. However... it might be wise to hold off purchasing a detector til we know what the new speed on green cameras operate on. If it's low power MRCD type then you will need a higher end detector. I'm sure you have seen or heard about the new extortion system coming this summer.Would I be ok with a uniden dfr8 just to get started?
Thanks for all the great info! Is there a local website or local dealer where I could price out the tmg system?Welcome to the forum from another Vancouver member. Great advise above from other local members. Note; dragon eye is not the only laser used in greater vancouver, there are other units tougher to defend against which are increasing. For RD’s, Uniden just dropped the price again for the dfr9 which is a great unit for the price and very strong against Ka 34.7 which is common here and
would serve you fine but as @Run4donut mentioned, speed cameras are installed and set to be turned on in June. They will probably be low K but we dont know yet. The good news is the cameras are stationary so we know where they are. Uniden’s top RD R7 was recently released and adds arrows, auto lockouts and more features that you may not need. Radenso Pro is also a great unit. For LJ to defend against DE you need 3 heads up front. We recently tested my TMG 3 head system (only front shots here) and it was very good against the DE gun we used. Alp is currently the benchmark system but here in Canada is comes at huge premium price. TMG, with a distributor now in Canada, is new to north america and a good alternative and improving all the time. It is offered at a lower price point and definitely should be considered.
You beat me to it thanxNo worries Man. Here is a link to TMG Canada;
